Stayed for one night. Amazing views of the fjord from our balcony. Great location. Room was a good size and nicely furnished. The sports bar was good with nice views and the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the sun / sunset over the fjord. Breakfast was fairly standard, with a good selection for all tastes.

A beautiful hotel situated right on the waterfront with a spectacular view of the fjord. Just hope that there isn't cruise ship docked as it will block the entire view. We were lucky - no ship until the next morning - so we had a whole evening to enjoy the view. Room was very nice; bed comfy. Enjoyable buffet dinner and breakfast. Go for a walk down the street from the hotel to see the trees wrapped in crochet socks! not kidding.

The location overlooking the fjords was great. But it was hard to enjoy it because the person next door -- whose balcony we shared -- was a heavy smoker. I get that it's Europe and people aren't as sensitive to cigarette smoke, but it kind of defeats the purpose of offering a non-smoking room if someone can smoke on a shared balcony. I couldn't even enjoy the fresh air because of the smoke. Could only enjoy the view from closed windows, which wasn't as nice. Was also surprised by a lack of basic things in the hotel room. Like an alarm clock. The front desk seemed puzzled by my request to borrow a clock and seemed to have no way to do a wake-up call, other than leaving a note for the night manager. There's also the fact that the hotel directly overlooks where cruise ships pull in. Because we had to get up early anyway, it wasn't a problem for us. But I'd hate to be trying to sleep when a boat with 2,500 people pulls in right below.

We stayed here for three nights on a tour of Norway's fjords and were not disappointed with the experience. Our room was very comfortable and reasonably well appointed. The view of the fjord was beautiful, providing there wasn't a cruise ship parked in the way. Situated in easy walking distance from the town centre, it is a fine place to base yourself in this stunning part of the world. With a small art gallery right next door with work by a local, very talented artist, it is easy to keep yourself entertained and interested. There are several local sights to see and a compact town centre with gift shops and small supermarkets should you need routine supplies or consumables. This would be a walkers paradise with scenery which gives and gives. Food in the hotel's restaurant was served buffet style, and was plentiful, varied and a very good standard. The Waiting staff are helpful and friendly, they clear things quickly where needed and are very efficient. Tour groups defend on the town daily from the cruise ships, and so there is a bustling feel about the town without it being hectic or cramped. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would certainly recommend a visit.

This unique hotel was amongst many great ones our Grand (Motor Coach) Tour of Scandinavia included, and we were not disappointed-the view was magnificent of the fjord! We had our own private balcony overlooking the garden and water beyond, looking out over the flag of Norway and mountain behind. It was late July and I got up at midnight just to see how dark it was; I was surprised by a beautiful moon appearing over the fjord, creating a lovely view almost as light as day! We ate dinner and breakfast as a large group, buffet style; the food was delicious. Our room was large and well appointed, but we spent little time there, as the outdoors was calling to us to stroll over to the pretty church nearby and sit for a spell on the inviting benches near the hotel surrounded by an abundance of blooming shrubs and trees. The hotel had an inviting gift shop spilling out into the hallway, encouraging one to buy jackets, coats, baby gifts, souvenirs, etc. at very reasonable prices. I would definitely stay here again-it was a real treat with a gorgeous view!
