We stayed in a room that was not yet renovated, and it was shabby, without proper lightning, without a/c, hot and really seen its best days. At night it got really stuffy with three persons and you couln't keep the windows open for all the trafic noise outside. We had booked a room for three and they gave us a room with two beds. Of course they gave us the third bed later. Service at the reception was friendly and they had extra umbrellas to lend when going out. Apparently the restaurant at the hotel is very good, and there is an entrance to the Link-restaurant with a view. I liked the breakfast: it had quite wide assortment with warm and cold dishes, drinks and fruit. The hotel is "cash-free" so credit cards are widely accepted. Parking is recommend at the slot of the mall next door. We had our car there over night and it was an annoyance since the charging of the parking didn't work so it took us extra time to sort it out. You pay the parking at the slot, not to the hotel.

We stayed one night in a superior double room which cost NOK 1748. The good points were: the room was of a good size, much larger than a typical Norwegian double. It had a good desk and the beds were good and reasonably firm and comfortable. Pillows OK. Good blackout curtains, so sleep was continuous. The hotel is well located just as you drive into Narvik, handy to Info centre, War Museum, railway station, shops etc. Nice lobby. Free wifi was OK. Casual/pub restaurant was very good ambience and food and drink. Parking fairly close at shopping centre (125NOK for a day) but have to navigate many levels of carpark to get out. Not entirely easy parking, but not a dealbreaker. But, overall, this hotel was tired and dirty, and we were glad to leave. As for cleanliness, the whole hotel (lobby and room) was grubby and had not been properly cleaned. Our room had a significant film of dust everywhere and, when I bent under the desk to insert a power plug (the 2 convenient ones above the desk not being operational), I encountered drifts of dust and dirt. External window so dirty, hard to see out of. The bathroom was very low quality: tap was broken, everything rudimentary, shower doors dysfunctional. Grouting all cracked. Unhygenic. Upon arriving at the room it was as hot as an oven. Couldn’t open 1 window more than a crack, other window locked. Got staff up and, after some fairly strong insistence, he unlocked a window so we could breathe. Gave us a (feeble) fan. Loud road noise- right on main road. Room décor and equipment old and tired. Many power points didn’t work. There may be better rooms, but, having paid extra for a “superior” room, we were pretty appalled. Check in staff fairly offhand. Breakfast lacklustre. And (by now feeling negative), I was not impressed to encounter a dirty breakfast bowl at the checkout counter- the staff member had just had her breakfast at her post and left it right by the payment machine. Offhand checkout too. Surely there must be better value in Narvik?

We stayed here just one night as part of a 38 group Leger Holiday tour of Scandinavia, on a half board basis. We were on the 4th floor in the newer part of the hotel. Our room was spacious and modern, clean with tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen tv, hairdrier. Very comfortable single beds which were pushed together to make a double room for us. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off at half past midnight, which was a shame since I was having one of the best night's sleep due to the curtains being lined and keeping out the light of the midnight sun. The meal we had for dinner was just ok, breakfast was better. The bread is all baked locally which was a bonus. It was a false alarm by the way, due to someone's steamy shower setting off the smoke alarm.

I tried to do this last night but somehow the Trip Advisor did not work on their computer. Not only this hotel has coffee and tea in its rooms but has tea and coffee at the reception also and water as well. The only thing was that I had a wet singlet and pyjamas as too hot with the doona and they had no sheets but this time I will do what other people on the tour did use the doona cober as a sheet!

I have travelled for over 30 years across most of the planet . Tonight I am staying in Narvik the land of the midnight sun As we ( a party of 9 ) checked in I was given my key The room was small. Worse than that -it had a laptop and a bottle of scotch on the table . It was occupied. I had 13 boxes with me as we are filming a Tv Show I went to reception to politely ask for a free room The receptionist found a room for me ,but decided to come with me “Is that because it may also be occupied?” I asked jokingly We got to the new room to find an elderly man and younger man in the room They were being evicted... I asked for them to remain... And so the 40 minute check in process went In all my years I’ve never been offered 2 already occupied rooms #fawltytowers

The second time was guests that was changing room from a double to a twin room. That was the only double room we had available and that is the reason the receptionist followed you up.
