With a little help from good neighbours, the Clarion Hotel® Aviapolis was able to start a beautiful tradition: the Happy Kids Christmas Party for Children. After all, who said Christmas parties should just be for grown-ups?

The Clarion Hotel Aviapolis’ Christmas party for children helped everyone get in the festive spirit!

More than 200 children and adults came to the Clarion Hotel Aviapolis for a proper Christmas party with lots of fun-filled activities! The whole thing began when the hotel’s Food & Beverage Manager’s 4-year-old asked her this: Why are Christmas parties only for grown-ups, not children?

– I had previously toyed with the idea of a Christmas party for children, and this was the perfect trigger. My amazing colleagues were super-supportive and we got funding from the Good Neighbourhood Fund, so we decided to make this happen!

With a little help from good neighbours

To make the party as exciting and eventful as possible, the Clarion Hotel Aviapolis reached out to neighbouring companies with similar values. And it wasn’t hard to find good neighbours who wanted to contribute!.

The children’s clothing company Reima arranged activities for the children, the Fazer Experience Visitor Center donated sweets and arranged a lottery, the Finnish Aviation Museum brought little airplanes that the kids could “fly”, and Flamingo Spa’s very own mascot – a flamingo – came along to spread some festive cheer!

A little bit crazy – the Clarion way!

The guests enjoyed a delicious Christmas buffet and baked gingerbread. The entertainment included of a puppet show, a DJ and a dance floor, as well as an obstacle course. There were also activities on three floors, which allowed the children to explore the hotel. The final stop of this grand adventure was the 8th floor - the children were able to watch planes land and take off, and they were even encouraged to jump on the bed! A real treat!

A united neighbourhood

Families also donated gifts to put under the Lonely Christmas Tree in the lobby. Christmas isn’t always a happy time for everyone and we encourage people to do their bit to support those in need. But the party didn’t stop there! In addition to everything else, the hotel also launched a Living Room Club for its neighbours in Vantaa!

The beginning of a beautiful tradition

The Christmas party was a real success and kids are already eagerly awaiting next year’s festivities!. And Päivi’s 4-year-old who got the (snow)ball rolling, concluded: “Next time, I want to party even longer!”
