Very nice hotel. I stayed here for two nights in August. Got a nice room with a good view over the town square. Even though there was some traffic noise in the street, I could not hear it at all. The room was clean, newly furnished and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean and new. Location was superb - the hotel was in the center of the city - for anyone coming to Tromsø by airplane. The breakfast was excellent and I did not miss anything. They even served vitamins! A big plus was the late check-out on Sunday (at 2 pm) and brunch - the breakfast was served until 1 pm on Sunday. There was also a possibility to make your own waffles after 3 pm, for free. The staff was helpful, especially the young man at the reception was quickly helping the customers. I would definitely stay here again. - If I was to complain about something, that would be the locks. The doors were very tricky to lock, for some reason. Remember to check the door of your room before leaving the hotel. Otherwise it might stay open for the whole day...

What a fantastic hotel with a privileged location, spacious rooms and fabulous view. The breakfast was excellent and our stay was a real pleasure. You have place and you can prepare your coffee or tea in the afternoon with waffles and cream and so on. The welcome from the staff was appreciated. Each time we've asked information, they help us out. I would highly recommand to stay in this hotel and I would be glad to come back again.

Do not book a room if you need parking for your car!

We booked a room with reserved parking in January 2015 for our honey moon in July. When we arrived we had a parking reservation, but we noted that the parking had few parking and no space (so if you have a big car, there is no space to move the car). At 08:00pm we went to a restaurant by car , but when we came back, our parking space was not free and there were any other parking free into the garage! The staff told us that often person not allowed to parking and without a reservation, park into hotel parking, and he can't do anything! We told him that it's simple: he should check the car number with a reservation, and then call police or who it may concerns to remove the cars not allowed. The hotel parking has only 10 parking spaces, so few spaces are not a troble to check. They told us that they gave us a present (wine! But we are italian, we can sell wine at low cost in Italy and for us it's a insult , they can't know that we are italian, but they have to pay attention to the guests culture). We asked to the staff to have our parking money back (170 nok per night), because we paied in advance). The told us that we would have a compensation and they would not charge parking expenses on our room... But we had already paied!!!. We don't know if we receive our money back on our credit card, anyway our experience is bad. No professional!

Pretty Good - except for the inability to completely block out the midnight sun!

A group of us booked rooms in the Saga for 11 nights as we were playing in the European Bridge Championships being held in Tromso. I confidently told my friends in Australia that "certainly the hotel will block out the light - how else do they sleep?" - well i was wrong!! we tried pegging the curtains together, putting shoes and any objects we could find on the ledge to try and hold the curtains down, all to no avail. The light just streams in to the room - well all day and all night. It did make sleeping very difficult and i can't say we ever got used to it. The rest of the hotel was quite good. We had ordered a superior room that was quite reasonably sized by Norwegian standards (but no drawers in which to put your clothing), with a 3 seater couch, a desk and a chair. The breakfast range was also quite good. We were very disappointed to find that the advertising in all our rooms which said their was dinner available every night from Mon to Thurs wasn't actually available. Apparently only in Winter. I do think they should make that very clear in all the blurbs they have posted around in the room. The staff were quite friendly and helpful if we had a query. Free wifi a bonus - although that seems to be the norm in Scandinavia.

Dear leonemoff, Thank you very much for your responde on your stay at Quality Hotel Saga. We are sorry to hear that you had problems to sleep becaus of lack of black-out curtains in the room. There are still some rooms without these, and unfortunately you got one of them. Anyway, we will start a big room-renovation project this winter, and we will of cause take you feedback seriously and ensure that every room are equipped with black-out curtains. We hope to see you as our guest also in the future. Best regards Tore Pettersen General Manager
