Quality Hotel™ Saga

The breakfast was great, there was absolutely nothing missing and left nothing to be desired. The location right in the city center was also perfect. The bathroom was good, especially the shower was great! The lobby and breakfast room are attractively furnished. We had booked a family room (up to 4 people) for 3 adults. The room was much, much too small for this! There was only one space for suitcases and no storage for packing and unpacking. As the suitcases were very dirty due to the winter weather, it was out of the question to put them on the bed. There were no closets, shelves or anything like that, just a coat rack. There were not enough hooks in the bathroom. There was also no safe. It would be nice if there was a shoe shine machine in the house, absolutely essential in muddy weather. Also, the carpeting in the hallways is very run down.

Our room (125) was large, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of minot gripes...Our room was a bit odd. You can only have the, otherwise useful, bedside reading light on if you have a main light on at the same time. Plus the main light switch turned off the plug socket with which I was charging my back up battery packs. There wasn't a single drawer for storage. There were lots of useful coat hooks though.

I booked a room with a view and I must say this was totally worth it. I was on the 7th floor and had such an incredible view. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was also quite generous in size. The buffet breakfast had lots of great options. Location was great, within 2 minute walk of many of the meeting points for various tours.

Crazy price even in expensive Norway!!! I got sent here after the sister hotel Clarion stuffed up my booking. I booked on Booking.com. Got there and hotel said room was dirty (!!). Sent me to sister hotel Quality Hotel Saga walking in cold again with my huge suitcase after a long trip, refusing taxi fee, refusing refund of difference of hotel rate. Because surely Quality Hotel Saga is not 4 star... looks like a dorm room!!! Very cheap, tiny, bare, depressing, not even a hand towel, the one window is to restaurant area which is noisy, can hear people in their rooms and closing doors! The receptionist wouldn't even give me an extra blanket when it was cold and made me ask twice. Very poor value and room compared to other hotels I stayed at in Norway.

When they gave me my room it was not ready, it was for 3 people and there were only 2 beds ready. The bathroom had no ham or conditioner, that is, a disaster. of my worst experience in Europe. I don't understand how something so basic happened.
