My wife and me stayed 3 nights in the Comfort Hotel Square. The hotel looks modern. The rooms are very simple and basic. The beds are however pretty small (too small for a tall Dutch couple). Air conditioning / air circulation in the hotel rooms is poor. Rooms are cleaned once every 3 or 4 days only. Guests can pick up fresh towels themselves in the corridor. Breakfast is okay, but again very simple / basic. Staff is friendly and happy to help.

Stayed here two times now and this is one of these modern style hotels with concrete walls and self-service arrangements. All very minimalistic or maybe it is modern and targeting a different type of traveler. Breakfast was limited with various services not working or available including coffee! Nobody appeared interested to help you or resolve matters. I reckon there are better places to stay in Stavanger for a similar amount.

Stayed here with a few friends on a weekend break. First impressions of the hotel is excellent. It has a very modern look and is well laid out. The bar and reception was combined, which I thought would be a problem but I was wrong; never had to queue and the choice very good. The rooms are very good. Although the beds are very narrow, I slept well and found them very comfortable. There is a roof top terrace that is a good idea though looked a bit tatty and I never saw any drinks served. I never used this so it didn’t affect my rating and enjoyment. Breakfast is brilliant with great choice, regular topping up of food, and excellent service. There is a free table tennis table in the reception which was fun. The best thing about the hotel other than it’s great location is the friendliness and service of the staff. Thank you for making my first visit to Norway a memorable one.

Overall the hotel is very nice, nicely decorated and the service was outstanding. Very nice people at the front desk always took care of my needs and answered my questions. But what I didn't like was that when I arrived around 12pm (it was earlier than the check in time, which is 3pm) they said I could either wait for check in time or if I paid an additional 100kr they could have a room for me right away. Usually at hotels when I arrive early if they have a room available, they just check me in. Also it is important to keep in mind that even though the hotel is located very close to the train station and the harbour (where many restaurants and night life is located) you have to walk a steep slope. When we came in from the train station with bags, in one of the hotest days of the year, it was a really tough 9 minute walk. The same thing happened when we came in at night from eating, you have yo go up a lot of stairs if you want to walk to the hotel. Overall the hotel is good, really liked the breakfast, but keep in mind that if you want to walk to and from the hotel its not going to be ideal.
