Quality Hotel™ Sogndal

Best breakfast till now i've seen. New part of the hotel is looking very good, nice view. Surprised by free tea, coffee, icecream for guests. Would be nice to have a tea pot in the room, but looks like it is common for entire Scandinavia.

We stayed here just one night. Abundant parking, The room was very clean. Bathroom had a very high tub that was hard to get in and out of- and also hard to stand in b/c it was very narrow. Older folks might want to make sure to get a handicapped accessible room. We had dinner in the Vagal restaurant downstairs. Burgers were good. The buffet breakfast was amazing- the best we had in Norway with a huge variety of cold and hot offerings. We could eaten straight through dinner!

Beautiful room and view! Fantastic location, across from bus and taxi stop. Both meals at their restaurant were delicious. Great walking paths right out the front door and amazing views. Front desk was super helpful. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered March 13 on phone because the Electronic booking did nor work. One single room for two Nights, agreed price NOK 1175/night. Received confirmation by SMS, no price referred to. When checking in on Friday May 24 they would charge me for a total of NOK 2950. They tried to insist on agreed price 2950, bot after several discussions they gave in and gave me the agreed price. Poor enviremental choice with large pillows With only mission to prevent the wall behind the bed. And the hotel Chain claims an organic preference, but the only trace of organic was the milk.

I recently spent one night here as part of a Gate 1 tour. As soon as I walked into the room the first words that came to mind were "what a dump." It looked like a college dorm room and wasn't even that clean. It certainly didn't look like the touted renovations to be completed by May had reached the room I had. The room was drab, in poor repair, and the bathroom was dirty. The electrical outlets were in bizarre and inconvenient locations for charging devices. The hallways were dark and dismal. There was even a book on the desk that said "Get me out of here" which were my thoughts exactly. I had a connecting room and I could hear everything going on next door. There is no safe in the room and the mini-fridge was non-operational. The bathroom toiletries were extremely basic, thankfully I had packed my own. You get a pump for hand soap and then one pump in the shower that is supposed to be body and hair soap I guess. The hotel itself is in a good location to walk to the water and to the local mall and supermarket. The restaurant had clearly been renovated recently and was quite nice though I did not care for the food. Hopefully when they finish the renovations the rooms will have a similar update, but the room I had was not up to par. I would not return based on my stay.
