This hotel is situated in a lovely area. Oslo is a beautiful city and this hotel is cosy and silent. It took only one hour and half to fly from Helsinki to Norway. Oslo is a very good weekend getaway!

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights during business trip. The building of the hotel is atmospheric and very beautiful, especially its exterior, reception area and the halls. Many old paintings, wood, cosy armchairs. Breakfast was excellent: good quality food and a big choice. There was also a complimentary dinner that was a lovely surprise. Food choice for dinner was limited but it was ok. Having dinner provided at the hotel without any additional fee is very useful in such an expensive city as Oslo! Room was small and in need of some refurbishment but overall ok and very clean. Also, it was very quiet so a sleep was not disturbed. A kettle would be welcome in the room. What I didn't like about the room was a bathroom. It was so small that a shower didn't even have any doors or curtain. As a result, you take shower and water pours on the sink, toilet, on the entire floor which then becomes very slippery. What is more, it is strange that a bathroom door was transparent. It would be very uncomfortable with such a door if two people stayed in the room. I think bathroom should be definitely improved as now it is more suitable to a hostel than to a solid hotel. Overall I had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would be happy to return there for another business trip.

You may come to experience, as we did, the breakfast- and evening meal- buffet out of food, sticky buffet floors, juice machines out of juice, spilled food and drinks onto the buffet (and more) without the staff tending to it. A snack on the floor of your hotel room may compensate for the lack of a hot evening meal as promised in the hotel advertising, but then again maybe not. However, if you enjoy a tomato-sauce based fish stew, there will be ample for you, as few others do. No vegetarian/vegan hot meal options for neither morning nor evening. How about a shower that also showers the whole bathroom? After which you can dry off with a brown-stained towel.. No towel provided for the wet and slippery floor, though. And of course; no complementary toiletries in this hotel. Note that upper-level staff do not wear the assigned face mask in the buffet-area nor otherwise. Guests have to provide their own masks or buy it at the reception although there's no information preparing guests for this. If you hang the 'Do not disturb' sign on your door chances are the hotel-room telephone will ring off the hook the whole day as the receptionist will want to know what you mean by that. If you cannot answer the phone because you're in an online meeting and thus must not be disturbed, it will be to no avail to turn the sign to 'please, clean my room' the next day as you were too busy to answer the phone the previous day about the 'do not disturb' sign pertaining to that day when the sign was out. If course, if you decide to say anything non-complimentary about any of this the hotel manager willingly regrets your perception of it all. Enjoy your stay somewhere else.

Hi linebX5292WG We are sorry for the incidents that you mention of the evening meal went out of food the last 10 minutes one of the evenings you stayed, the misunderstanding with the room type on check in and that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. This should not happened and we are truly sorry. As communicated in e-mails we also have compensated you with bonus points so you can redeem a free stay, as a token of apology for this. Again we are sorry that this happened to you and we have taken steps to ensure it will not occur again. We do also have vegetarian/vegan meal options for our guest both on breakfast and evening meal, on request. And all staff are wearing face masks at all time through out the hotel also the upper level staff you refer to. This was me and I remember the incident very well when I tried to help you with the juice dispenser. Also some of the other incidents you also mention the facts varies from how we experienced them. Even though my staff and myself are in the service industry and the we happily and courteously serve you as our guest, we also hope we deserve respectful and a courteous tone of voice in return. We stayed one night, in a rather small double room. The room was just barely large enough to fit the bed with enough room to walk around, and felt rather cramped. I banged my head both in the (enormous!!) ceiling lamp and the slanting roof on more than one occasion, and the door hit the suitcase stand when opened. The bed was comfortable, but it seemed to be no ventilation (due to Covid??), as the room got seriously warm during the night. This was late September, so not warm enough at night outside to explain for this. The bathroom was also very small, and started to show some wear, as a few of the tiles were cracking and chipping, and the magnetic lock on the bathroom door was broken, so it didn't stay shut. Breakfast was good enough, the only thing I'm used to finding in most hotel breakfasts that I didn't find here was fried eggs. There was enough variety, and fresh food, so enjoyed breakfast. We also had an evening meal included, but since we were mainly in Oslo to have dinner at a nearby restaurant, we didn't try this. All in all a pretty average hotel. A bit less than we expected, to be honest, as the hotel looked a bit above average on the hotel site.
