Part of the hotel is literally built in the sea, it was a new experience for me to get out from the room balcony and find sea water right below! There is a nice SPA in the hotel, i didn't get the chance to try it in person but one of mu colleagues did and he liked it a lot. The breakfast is very nice, had dinner in the hotel and the food quality is just perfect.

The hotel and spa itself is lovely and overall was a great experience. The room could have been cleaned better (floor needed hoovering) and we weren't provided with glasses when we first arrived and hairdryer was broken. The parking was full when we arrived and we would have appreciated being told in advance that they did not have adequate parking space which resulted in us having to spend 150kr on parking outside of the hotel which is not ideal. No way to book the restaurant before arriving and were given an automatic reservation to have dinner at 9.30pm even though we would have preferred to have dinner much earlier. Was not impressed by the food in the restaurant for dinner but breakfast was lovely.

Stayed at Farris Bad for 2 nights in May. The hotel is perfect for a short break. Location: Set just by the beach and within walking distance of some bars/restaurants. Its 15 mins by car to the small village of Stavern which is definitely worth a visit. There wasnt too much to offer in Larvik itself but that didnt bother us due to the quality of the hotel. Room: Stayed in a superior double, good size, clean and modern with a balcony overlooking the beach. Added bonus that we had the sun on our balcony late afternoon. Spa: By far the shining star of this hotel and what makes it special. Great range of facilties and amazing views from the hot tub which has steps straight down into the sea! Lockers are reserved for day guests but the friendly spa reception team will look after your room key. Quality spa treatments. Food: We didnt eat in the restaurant except breakfast which was buffet style and delicious. We did enjoy drinks in the bar (£15 for a gin a tonic) and we loved just chilling on the outside furniture overlooking the water with drinks. Nearby: We went a couple of times for lunch to the nearby Pakkhuset, a bar/restaurant set by the water - definitely recommend and 5 mins walk from Farris Bad. We also dined at Becks Brasserie, again would recommend but quite expensive! There is a place restaurant round the corner which we didn't think was amazing (better pizza at Pakkhuset). We hired a car and took a short drive to nearby village of Stavern (15mins away) and to worlds end (approx an hour away). If you are looking for a relaxing break in Norway this is definitely the hotel to stay! Just remember how expensive Norway is though - we paid £14 for a bottle of beer and a quick lunch would be around £60.
