What do we get if we mix New York flavors with Nordic ingredients that are organic, a well-known and well-liked chef and fun dining? The answer is the restaurants Kitchen & Table that are at many Clarion Hotels in the Nordic region. If you have not experienced Kitchen & Table, you are welcome, whether you are a hotel guest or not. You will be met with a cultural and culinary experience where the flavors are inspired by the versatility of Manhattan in combination with Nordic cooking techniques.

The à la carte restaurant Kitchen & Table is a meeting place for local and global influences. Kitchen & Table takes inspiration from local cuisine, wherever you are – whether it is way down in southern Sweden or high up in northern Norway. Local and organic raw materials of high quality are a large part of the restaurants. The menu changes according to the season, but it always features a mix of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Of course, the menu takes into account special allergies, so that everyone can visit us!

Marcus Samuelsson – the name behind the restaurant

Marcus Samuelsson has made food for people like former President Obama and the Swedish royal family. Now it’s your turn!

The internationally renowned and well-known chef Marcus Samuelsson stands behind Kitchen & Table. Marcus is based in New York and operates several trendy restaurants in Manhattan. He has previously cooked food together with Michelle Obama on the TV show “Good Morning, America”, prepared a state dinner for former president Obama, won several awards for his cooking, and served the Swedish Royal Family at his Red Rooster restaurant in Manhattan. Marcus brought Manhattan’s flavors and delicious dishes to the Nordic Region to create exciting, refreshing and new taste experiences. That’s how the Kitchen & Table restaurant concept came to life, focusing on Fun dining – not fine dining. Because food should not be stiff and boring – it should be fun! Now it’s your turn to try Marcus’s recipes; you can choose from light bites and snacks to bigger dishes and delicious desserts. Fun Dining is about good flavors in relaxing environments!

Urban Garden – enjoy good food with a good conscience

The central part of the menu is called Urban Garden, where vegetables take on the main role and animal protein is only a small part; it is Clarion Hotel and Marcus Samuelsson’s latest initiative towards a greener and more sustainable menu. Urban Garden consists of four green dishes, with main courses based on seasonal vegetables and combined with your choice of protein. The menu will make it easier for restaurant guests to be environmentally friendly. In addition, Clarion Hotel is committed to organic farms on the hotel’s roofs. Here they grow large portions of the vegetables served at Kitchen & Table.

Clarion Hotel Post in Gothenburg was the first hotel within the hotel chain with its own rooftop garden where they grow legumes, vegetables, herbs, fruits and berries. The goal is that many more hotels will have their own Urban Gardens, and in hotels where this is not possible, there will be investment in more cooperation with local farmers. This means that our bars and restaurants are increasingly able to serve food and beverages grown in the immediate area with sustainable technologies to save the environment, energy and transportation.
