This is a business class hotel located in Kastrup, a sleepy outlying area of Copenhagen. If you want exciting nightlife, this is not the place for you. If, however, you are requiring proximity to the airport, at a reasonable price, then the Quality Airport Hotel Dan will suit you just fine. The hotel seems to be popular with tour operators, as new batches of tour groups came in every night during our stay. But the hotel is fairly large, and swallowed up these groups effortlessly. The area is generally residential; there are two markets and a few eateries, but no coffee parlors. The scenic shoreline area is about a 15 minute stroll away. The room was fairly large, and very clean. The mattresses were on the soft side, but did not cause backache. There is no electric kettle in the room, nor is there a refrigerator. Snacks and a modern coffee/tea/espresso machine is located by the front desk. There is a charge for the hot beverages, but hot water can be obtained for free. As we had supplies of instant coffee and tea, it simply required a trip downstairs for hot water. The breakfast is reasonably good, but at $14.25 is a bit steep. After the first morning, we opted for fresh pastries from the very good local bakery down the street. The free wi-fi is among the fastest we have ever enjoyed in a hotel; approaching 60mb download, with a 45mb upload! There is a first come, first served free shuttle to the airport, but it operates only in the morning and the evening. This is perfectly adequate for a several day stay in Copenhagen because the Copenhagen Airport is a versatile transit hub not only for airlines, but for trains and buses too. We took the shuttle to the airport in the morning and went to the DSB ticket office in Terminal 3. You can purchase a day pass for Copenhagen public transit there. We then rode the M2, automated subway which terminates at the airport, back to the area of our hotel. The Kastrup station is just a few short blocks from the hotel. After our day in downtown Copenhagen, we rode the 2A bus back to Kastrup. It stops on Aileen Street, which is about 1 block from the hotel. If you want to visit Malmo Sweden, you would once again take the shuttle to the airport and purchase the Malmo train ticket at the same DSB ticket window. Back at the hotel, the current restaurant, "X Brasserie" is overpriced and disappointing. There aren't too many dining choices in Kastrup; the Fiorentina pizzaria seems to be very popular with the locals; our spaghetti dinners were OK. This is a very comfortable and clean business class hotel, and is very close to the airport. If you make use of the morning shuttle to the airport, you can then connect with Copenhagen public transit for your downtown excursions, or to go to Malmo Sweden. Our three night stay was very pleasant, and we took the half empty morning shuttle to the airport to easily connect with our flights back to the U.S.

Checked into the hotel a day before a scheduled tour and everyone on the staff was pleasant and helpful (all spoke excellent English). The restaurant in the hotel had a limited but a little pricey menu.. We took a cab from the airport to the hotel, but the cab driver seems surly but were told that they don't like to make short runs. Hotel is located about two blocks from the Metro and we used it a couple of times. Two supermarkets and other little shops and restaurants in a mini-neighborhood. Great breakfast.

Convenient location close to the airport, with free airport shuttle. The staff was helpful and the hotel was clean and organized. However, there were people shouting and talking at all hours of the night and none of us got any sleep before our day of 13 hours worth of travelling, which was unfortunate.
