Clarion Collection® Hotel Packhuset

Very nice staff, helpful and friendly at any time. We`ve been there probably 14 times without no dissapointment whatsoever. Fabolous view if you live in a room facing the harbour. It is located a couple of minutes walk from the center of Kalmar. A loveley small town with nice people. Two thumbs up!

I can’t stress enough how poor value this place is. By now, I think I’ve stayed in every imaginable room category (except the claustrophonic ”moderate”) and they all disappoint. The room - this time a newly renovated standard room - was ultra cramped, uncomfortable, freezing, and had a bathroom lacking any sort of functioning lighting. As usual, no AC, so you wouldn’t want to stay here during the summer. The breakfast was a mess, so we dined elsewhere. I can’t wrap my head around that this place gets high remarks from other travellers. I would rate it similar to a Super 8 or Motel 6, if not worse. They’re lucky that Kalmar lacks any sort of acceptable hotel. The only reason I give two stars is that the TV had pretty good streaming options and that the double bed was an actual double bed (although with two comforters instead of one).

We just stayed for a weekend to kill some time, Stroll through the streets of Kalmar and had a nice lunch, shopping etc…good access to everywhere from the hotel, very convenient! And they served good selection of salad, 2 types of soup and warm meal. Very tasty and friendly staff were working very efficiently!!

We stayed in a number of hotels during our tour in Sweden. This was the worst: the price was also the most expensive and the quality the lowest. Outdated rooms (with mold in the bathroom), poor breakfast and obligatory (poor) evening meal in the price (the second evening we went elsewhere for dinner). We find it incomprehensible that papers were hung up everywhere to clean up plates etc ourselves. We have no problem with this, but we do if this price is charged. We strongly advise against this hotel and we will also make this known in a number of reviews. Mariott hotel in Stockholm was less pricey, much better rooms and beds, a super deluxe breakfast compared to yours. Staff didn't seem very motivated to me either.

Great location and the breakfast, fika and dinner are included. The facility is a bit old and rooms are funky. It gets 5 stars for effort. They stick to their 3:00 pm check in time whether your room is ready of not. Parking is easy once you figure out the parking App.
