Clarion Collection® Hotel Grand Olav

Decent hotel in a sentral location. Check in/out was fast. Standard room was quite large. I didn’t care for the decor. Seemed a bit dated and not «fresh». Messy in the main hallway with lots of laundry and cleaning supplies out just outside of my room. Room has limited amenities…no coffee or water cooker, no iron, no minibar, no water glass, not possible to cast to the TV. In my opinion, the bed was not great but pillows were good and ample. Room was quiet. Dining area was ok but maybe a tad small for the number of guests? There is also food available in the evening, which seemed fairly decent…included in the room price. Gym is available next door for a fee, but I did not check it out. Overall, this hotel was fine…I’ve experienced worse…but there are still better hotels in Trondheim.

Too hot room and not possible to open window. Bathroom door of the sliding type with little noise damping. Ours was in addition broken at could not be closes properly. Very dirty cup in the room that had not been cleaned after guests before us.

A clearly average hotel in Trondheim, upon arrival worn hotel, receptionist room uncleaned bathroom, with crappy toilet and worn room. can change rooms which are slightly better but run down, breakfast unclear with times, one information in the room and completely different from the breakfast staff. There are significantly better and cheaper hotels in Trondheim

I had one of the many rooms facing into shopping mall. No privacy. Very noisy AC. Since window face into shopping mall it is not an option for fresh air nor cooling. Very dark room due to black lamps and weak bulbs. Not possible to read except in bathroom.

We have been traveling through Norway for the past 2 weeks and have stayed exclusively in Clarion hotels which on the whole have been very good. This one is well below standard. Firstly the lighting in the room is almost non existent. Secondly there is no tea or coffee - not even a kettle, cups etc - just nothing! Thirdly the furniture is very old and worn and appears quite grubby. Even a rip in the upholstery! Not a great experience.
