Comfort Hotel® Vesterbro

WARNING - Thieves operate with freedom in this hotel. We only saw one small warning sign up on one wall, and we were not told about the risk at check in. There are key card operated elevators and access to the corridors with rooms is with a key card (this is good), but access to the dining/breakfast room was uncontrolled. We both had our mobile 'phones stolen from our table in the breakfast room: we reported this to the staff and the police, both of whom informed us that thefts at breakfast were common place in this hotel. Members of staff also said that the thieves often came in to breakfast to eat for free and to 'scout' for possible targets. The police reviewed the CCTV and confirmed that they knew who the thieves were. We visited in late April 2024. The hotel is well positioned for seeing the sights of the city centre (of which there are lots) and restaurants; the rooms are a little on the small side; the bathrooms were clean (and with lots of hot water), but did have a musty smell; and the staff very helpful (especially in helping us report our stolen phones). There is also a car park for those who need it. The breakfast was plentiful and wide-ranging, and the dining room well laid out. So, in summary it is a good hotel with good value for money, but they cannot deny that thieves are operating in the breakfast/dining area. This could be reduced if a member of staff checked people before allowing them to enter into the dining room to ensure that they were either members of the hotel, or paying members of the public. The hotel is worth staying at - but be careful!

Cannot fault a thing at this wonderful hotel. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Good security measures implemented throughout the hotel. Good location. What more do you need? On return will definately stay here. Dont see anything relating to the other negative comments. Some people! Same hotel group as the equally very good Clarion Bastion in Oslo.

Excellent value for money, very near to central station and metro. Outstanding breakfast. Lidl next door which is great in this expensive city. Rooms small but still great for a city break with everything you need. Bikes available to hire from hotel. Staff so helpful.

In general, chain hotels in the Nordics have a very, very low standard, and Comforts aren’t really known for their excellence, but this specific hotel manages to be even worse that usual. Okay, the location is pretty good, but the rooms are uncomfortable, cramped, nasty, poorly cleaned and freezing with lousy water pressure. To top it off, you could hear every single word from the room next door. You would have to be crazy to even considering returning.

It's a clean hotel at a great location however the customer service is appalling. We had a small personal parcel sent to this hotel, clearly addressed "for the customer xxx checking in on 04 April" on the package, however the hotel ruthlessly rejected it, saying "we don't provide post office service". We simply needed an address to receive it when we were travelling on holiday, and checking in & out every day. This doesn't require a function as post office, this has NOTHING to do with post office service. All they had to do was to receive and store it for about a week, as simple as that. But this hotel is exceptionally cold and indifferent, they rejected the parcel, knowing it costs them NOTHING to have kept this small item for a few days, now we have lost it forever. We have travelled to 68 countries together and have never seen any hotel as such, it puts a really dirty stain onto a wonderful and beautiful country called Denmark, it's just disappointing and disgusting. Lucky this is the last stop for our trip in Scandinavia, otherwise this unpleasant experience would have muddled up our entire holiday.
