It needs to be easier to choose food that is good for you, animal welfare and the environment. We do not have all of the solutions, but maybe you do?
The Local EAT Award aims to discover Scandinavia’s new food entrepreneur, an innovator who has developed a novel solution at the food-health-sustainability nexus. We are looking for innovations within a range of domains, from new farming methods, to food waste management, to innovative production technology and alternative commodities. The winner will receive a prize of NOK 100 000!

WHO CAN APPLY
We are looking for small and medium size companies, individual projects or local initiatives in Norway or Sweden. The food-related product, service or initiative must solve the challenges connected to health and sustainability.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply fill in the application form (link). The deadline for all applications is May 6th 2016 and regional award winners will be announced on May 20th. One Norwegian and one Swedish regional award winner will be short-listed as their country finalists and will be invited to the EAT Stockholm Food Forum on June 13th and 14th. The overall winner of the local EAT Award will be announced at the Stockholm Food Forum 2016.

For this award the five regions are divided as:
North: Nord-Norge (Finnmark, Troms, Nordland).
Middle: Trøndelag (Sør- og Nord-Trøndelag).
West: Vestlandet (Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Rogaland).
East: Østlandet (Oslo, Akershus, Vestfold, Østfold, Hedemark, Oppland, Buskerud, Telemark).
South: Sørlandet (Vest-Agder, Aust-Agder).
For this award, the five regions are divided as:

Middle: Värmland, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Örebro, Uppsala, Västmanland.
East: Stockholm, Södermanland, Östergötland, Gotland.
West: Västra Götaland, Halland, Jönköping.
South: Kronoberg, Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne.

The Norwegian and Swedish finalists will both receive a free ticket to the EAT Stockholm Food Forum 2016, including accommodation. The Stockholm Food Forum is an invite only high-level event that brings together over 500 of the brightest minds from the fields of food, health and sustainability. The conference will offer unrivalled networking opportunities and the opportunity for the winner to present their initiative during the plenary session. Additionally, the overall winner receives a monetary prize of 100 000 NOK and a mentor meeting with Petter A. Stordalen.
THE JURY WILL LOOK FOR
Sustainability: To what extent the product/initiative/service solve a concrete food related need and/or challenge connected to health, environment or social issues?
Innovation: To what extent is the product/initiative/service innovative?
Goal and results: Is the goal realistic and the idea feasible? What kind of results can the candidate demonstrate? (Results connected to health, environment or social issues)
Profitability: Is the product/initiative/service profitable? If the project is in the start-up phase, the potential for profit will be considered
