Nordic Choice will do its utmost to prevent this from happening. Hence, we cooperate with the Rainforest Foundation Norway to conserve large areas of rainforest.
The guests contribute
For each night a guest stays at one of our hotels, Rainforest Foundation Norway conserves 100m2 rainforest for a year. Since the cooperation began, the amount of rainforest we have helped to conserve has increased every year. In 2011 we – and our guests – helped conserve 53,000 Hectare of rainforest. That equals 76,500 football fields.
It saved the atmosphere 19.1 million tons of CO2, which equals to the annual emission from 8,900 cars.

Quality Hotel Fredrikstad – the first palm oil free hotel in Norway
Quality Hotel Fredrikstad only serves its guests palm oil free food. The first palm oil free hotel in Norway does this to conserve the rainforest. Warning signs informs the guests about palm oil free zones, and through unique information the guests are given the opportunity to learn more about what makes palm oil a problem. In Nordic Choice we care about the rainforest, and for each person staying the night, our hotels conserve 100m2 of rainforest for a year. Quality Hotel Fredrikstad has gone one step further, and cut all foods containing rainforest threatening palm oil.
