This is a very large hotel high up in the mountains in Vradal in the Telemark region of Norway and close by the lake which can be easily accessed from the hotel. Our room was adequate and we were pleased to be able to open the window...push from the bottom out. The bathroom was small but adequate for the one night's stay on our Cosmos tour. We would probably have wanted something a little larger if we intended staying longer Our single beds were narrow! We enjoyed a buffet dinner and breakfast with plenty of choice for both. The hotel has lots of interesting furniture, bric-a-brac, and stuffed animals with plenty of nooks for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a chat, as well as a couple of very spacious lounge areas with comfortable seating. When we arrived many guests were sitting on the large outdoor patio enjoying the last of the summer warmth over a tipple or two

The hotel is a bit worn and old fashioned, but this also add a bit of atmosphere I guess. Quiet location close to the lake (across the road and down a short hill) Room was quite spacious and clean (family room). Cheap toiletries available. The tv was tiny (20"?). Ok beds. Great free wi-fi with good coverage around the hotel. We arrived in the afternoon and wanted dinner, but the restaurant closed at 5.30pm(!) and only the buffet was available. This offered mediocre food at quite a cost (tailored for bus-loads of tourists which seems very abundant at this hotel). Breakfast was ok. Pretty standard Norwegian hotel buffet. The warm items were lukewarm at best though. The hotel meets your needs for a place to spend the night, but is quite expensive for what you get, which must be a consequence of very limited comptetition in the area. A much better quality hotel in any Norwegian town or city would be cheaper...
