We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights whilst on a course. Hotel is located centrally and is close to restaurants and shops. Our room was clean and quiet; the bed was queen size(rather smal for two adults and a baby) but comfortable. The airconditioning was just right , making it comfortable to sleep at night.
People at reception and service people (both at the kitchen and housemaids) were extremely friendly and pleasant. The food however was not good(with some exceptions). Breakfasts: neutral menu you get around Norway, some cold fish, some cheese, some cereal, only filter coffee and very bad..believe me very bad pastries. They only had two type of yoghurt, both flavoured with some artificial fruit powder and I assume(I could not bring myself to taste them) lots of sugar. For people like me who like to have the real stuff in huge magnitude everyday, not having plain yoghurt with cereal equals a catastrophe. Lunch included two main parts, one was a cold buffet, mostly old dead vegetable cuts and somehow a repetition of some of the bad stuff from breakfast. Tomatos and cucumbar cuts were OLD, olives were the cheapest quality you can find in supermarkets,... The other part of lunch was served hot, bad quality cooked vegetables(you would not serve that even to your enemies), potato and rice, and meat or fish. The cooked meat was delicious. I did not try fish or chicken, but my husband said they were good, too. In general, their food did not match their service which was second to none(very friendly staff). This hotel can do much better if they improve their food.
They only had two baby chairs which created queues once there were a few families with little children. Management should invest in buying a few more baby chairs that can be securely fastened.
Like almost anything else, hotels are overpriced in Norway and this hotel is no exception.
