Stayed here during a customer visit in January. It was the only hotel close by. Well, in my opinion this hotel has seen better days. The rooms truly needs renovation in my opinion. Just take a look at my pictures. Apart from that my room was pretty clairaudient. I'd just stay for one night, which made it a place to sleep, nothing more. Which was good. With a bit more love and some investment this could be a beautiful and charming hotel on the countryside between Sweden and Norway. The breakfast was okay. To my surprise they had the original american waffle maker that you'll find in every second hotel in the U.S. Love that one!

Ok...again to be fair (as I try to be), I stayed during WRC Rally Sweden, which was based in Hagfors, about an hour's drive away. That said, for my £145 a night, I initially was put into a disabled room, which was less than perfect for someone able bodied. The heating thrummed away all night causing the wall to vibrate. I asked to be moved the next morning and the charming receptionist did just that with no argument. The 2nd room was....tired, I think is the best way to put it. In fact the whole hotel seems like a bit of throw back to the late 80's early 90's. There was an "entertainer" on every night of my stay and whose repertoire included the beatles and just loved to "tie a yellow ribbon round the ol oak tree". All played LOUD. The chef seems to enjoy the easy life, as the "a la carte" menu consisted of 5 main courses (which never changed on the 4 nights I stayed) and 2 of which were hamburgers of different varieties. As for the buffet, salmon, salmon and more ......salmon. In fact one evening the starters consisted largely of salmon and the main course was Salmon en croute, with boiled potatoes (no vegetables). Summing up...if you can get in here for around £69-£80 it's worth considering (if you like Salmon)...otherwise...nah.

We did a couple of days skiing at Sunne ski and stayed at the place for 3 nights. We had 3 dinner/breakfast included and the food in the evening was much over our expectations, the breakfast was average. The staff was helpful and friendly, a special thanks to the girl in the bar. We arrived from our skiing at 1530 and wanted a large coold beer, the bar did not open until 1600 but the bargirl hurried and served us the beer after only 2 min waiting, that was fantastic. We also joined a wine testing it was very good value 4 glases of wine and som snacks for only 100 SEK. The rooms was ok but you got a feeling that you stayed in a nursing home.

I've been to this hotel a few times before, so I knew what to expect. This time, however, was a trip with my collegues from work and our wives/partners/friend. It was a Wallman-show with christmas buffet. The show and the buffet was quite nice and left me a little impressed with the way they managed to keep the lines short to the buffet-tables in spite of quite a few people. The rooms, however are in dire need of renovation. Wallpaper worn and torn by furniture, burnmarks on the bedside table. Rooms are even a bit on the small side. And a double room (for two persons!) should hav two chairs, me and my wife had to take turns on who was to sit in the comfortable chair. The bathroom was old in design, but it "worked". But I do miss a proper bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo instead of the measly generic cleaning-compound dispenser. Staff was friendly and correct.
