Back again to Hotel Prisma (have been staying here a number of times before). Got room #308. I checked in as early as 01:30 PM, after arriving by train from Stockholm (1h 59 min’s very comfortable - and fast - journey). The walking distance from the central train (and bus) station is only 5 minutes. The female receptionist was very friendly and professional. She informed me that she would upgrade me…and there were no problems at all getting the room right away. She promptly even asked me if I would like to have an internet connection (wireless - and free off course) and a newspaper. That type of professional welcoming is exactly what I miss at very many hotels! Very good! The hotel itself is a rather newly build construction (maybe 15 years old). Originally; I believe that the hotel was build for business people, i.e. therefore having the possibility to host meetings and small conferences. Next to the hotel you have a Volvo plant where engines for Volvo trucks are produced. However, the environment is not a typical industrial one (except from a rather large parking space for the fabric’s employees in front of the hotel)…at the backside of the hotel it’s more a rural one with private villas with gardens, as well as a park. The hotel is situated 10 minutes walking distance from the central city square. It’s very easy to find parking when arriving by car. The hotel has a sauna as well as a bar and a restaurant for dinner / breakfast. Room #308, situated towards the “back side” of the hotel with a nice view vis-a-vis the rural private villas and their gardens, was nice and adequate. It had hard wooded floor and a nice and comfortable double bed (where I slept very well with the windows opened during the night, i.e. no disturbing sounds from the outside at all). There also was a very functional desk; fine wardrobes; a mini-safe in the wardrobe; a refrigerator build in under the desk (filled by non-alcoholic soda and snacks…to be paid for). The bathroom was very nice as well with a large sink; and a lot of space to put your belongings; a large shower cabin with a small seat…and a toilet, off course. The breakfast the next morning was, regrettably - not up to my expectations. I found the selection to be limited, dull and uninteresting. Nothing more than the basic assortment of the usual hams, cheeses and jams. Furthermore some very boring (white & unappetizing) scrambled egg, as well as bacon and small sausages. All of the boiled eggs were cold. The best part was one of the fresh, baked breads (rolls were served as well), With a better breakfast, I would undoubtfully give the hotel more than the 3 ½ stars which I find the hotel to be. However, due to the very nice service, I have no problems giving it 4 stars. And I have no problems in recommending the hotels to others. And for sure, I will be happy to come back myself.

Located less than ten minutes' walk from the railway station (go over the bridge) on the outskirts of town and next to a beautiful wood with ponds and ducks etc. Reception was very efficient and warm, but there were some plumbing hitches in our room. We reported this immediately but during our two-day stay the workman never came to fix the malfunctioning bathroom plug. Nice touch that coffee and biscuits are provided in the lobby. Breakfast was OK though they were rather tardy replenishing the bread on the Sunday morning and service there wasn't as friendly as in the reception.
