My 2nd stay. Very friendly staff. Room is BASIC but restaurant was ok, breakfast pretty good. Walls are made a paper. Beds fairly comfortable but they duvet is too small. There was a big event on the night I arrived which had its own disco etc. which I could hear in my room quite some way away. Not a biggie but does play to sound proofing comment. I'll stay again but understand what to expect.

I just stayed at the Quality Hotel Expo for 4 nights while visiting Fornebu on work. Some of my other colleagues suggested that I stay in a hotel in central Oslo as there really isn't much to do in Fornebu. I suppose it depends on what you want to do. i was in Fornebu on work and the Quality Hotel Expo was just a 5 minute walk from the office so the location was perfect. This is very much a no non-sense business hotel but one that does not compromise on the quality of the service that it offers and that too for a very reasonable price. The overall check-in process was quick and smooth. Don't expect to have anyone help you with your luggage though. You are on your own here. I was given Room 391 which was on the far edge of the 3rd floor with a decent view of the foliage and the fjord. The room had a double bed, a desk (no drawers), a recliner, TV, remote, phone - your basic essentials. The closet is very Ikea space saving styled so utilizing minimum space but was sufficient for what I needed. It did have a little fridge but no mini-bar as the fridge was empty. The bathroom was clean and basic with no extras. The shampoo/Soap dispenser in the shower was the same one as in the sink. All this to say that you should not be expecting the Ritz when you check into this hotel but quality it does't compromise on. The hotel staff were all friendly including at the restaurant at Brasserie X. The food was of good quality, prepared well and with generous proportions - and once again very reasonably priced. As it didn't have room service, the staff mentioned that everything on the menu could be ordered and taken up as "take away" with proper siliverware and glasses to complement. I gave it a try and it worked out well. The complimentary breakfast was also very good and plentiful. Overall the hotel with its proximity to the office (Telenor) and immediate access to a supermarket across the street and public transport almost at its door was ideal and most convenient for me. It did not offer much frills but whatever little it did offer the service was never compromised.

The location of this hotel can be a bit discouraging, but have no fear. There is actually a 24 hours/7days a week bus line that stops right outside. Thus it is possible to get a very inexpensive ride to the hotel at all hours of the day and night, and that combined with often 100-200 nok cheaper per night than other hotels in the nearby of central Oslo, makes this hotel a good choice. Also, they have very good beds and a tasty full breakfast, and if you arrive by car, a nice parking garage underneath the hotel. Close to Telenor Arena it should be the first choice if you are planning a visit to the arena and needs a place to spend the night.

Getting ready to move we stayed at the Quality Hotel Expo for roughly a week. With a child and dog we were given a large room with a decent view. Breakfast was bountiful and typical for a Scandinavian hotel. The hotel is set up for conferences and is near Telenor Arena. The area does not have an abundance of restaurants and shops but there is an abundance of walking paths and wonderful views of the fjord. Bus service is a two minute walk away with a train station a mere ten minute walk (or take the bus). The Fornebu area is booming so expect services, shops, etc. to appear.
