All I wanted to do when I got here was unwind. A bloke called Werner checked me in quickly and cheerfully with no fuss, I went to my room, decided some booze would help me sleep, went for a beer, the piano player was actually quite funny so I ended up having three beers. Bed was clean, room was nice, it was quiet. You could hear aircraft but not to usual airport hotel levels .... the hotel doesn't seem to be under any flight paths.
Breakfast was GOOD. I had a pretty rough day ahead so I had the works, cereals, fruit, sausages, beans, eggs, meatballs, fried potatoes and grabbed an apple and a free espresso to take with me in the hire car.
This place isn't a spa or resort. It's just a good hotel in a convenient position when you're flying in or out of Gardermoen with great staff, nice atmosphere and I think, good value for money if you don't want to risk a nasty, down-market experience attempting to save a few quid.
A bloke called Kim checked me out. Nice bloke. No fuss.
Staff and atmosphere make this place. NONE of the hotels around here have "views". It's motorways and support areas for the airport all over the place. This place does actually back onto woods and I saw a badger .. my first ever but don't go if you're on a nature trek.
That's about all. The bar was pretty lively, staff were a good laugh .... this place doesn't give you a reason to try another hotel. I'll be there again.
