I stayed at Quality Airport Hotel Gardermoen for four days in July 2016, when there was a heat wave here in Norway. The hotel has no air condition/air ventilation or climate control in the rooms, and when I entered my room, it felt like entering a sauna. There was more than 30 degrees Celsius inside, and opening the windows didn't help at all. It wasn't just hot, but the air quality was really bad, and the room smelt like an old closet. My first night was spent rolling back and forth in the bed, sweating like a maniac, with no sleep what so ever. What saved me was that I had brought a table fan, that I put in front of the window, getting some air circulation in the room, which made it livable in there, but not comfortable. I must say that I do expect hotels to have a satisfying indoor temperature, both in cold or warm periods, and the hotel can't expect people to bring their own fans (!). Norwegian summers usually aren't that warm, but that doesn't help much when you're visiting during a heat wave. Everyone who stayed there at the same time had the same problem, so the hotel definitely isn't the place to stay in warm periods. Apart from the heat, I had a nice stay, and the air quality and temperature was better in the rest of the hotel than in my room. The hotel is old, but they're doing a rebuild now, and I found that even though my room was quite old, it was clean and well-kept. I had a room on the ground floor with two single beds. The beds were extremely comfortable, and if it hadn't been for the heat, I would really have enjoyed the stay. There's an armchair, a desk and a regular chair and a TV in the room, in addition to a closet. There's no minibar, but they have something called "lounge 24", which is basically a huge minibar situated in the reception, which is open 24/7. The hotel has free parking for all guests right beside the hotel, so there was no problems finding a spot to park. It is situated right by the highway, but it also has a small forest nearby, where you can enjoy a quiet walk in the forest. There's transfer buses to the airport, so it's a great place to stay if you're heading for the airport. The staff is helpful and friendly, but during a few of the breakfasts, some of the food was missing, and it was never brought out. I e-mailed the hotel in advance concerning gluten free food, and I was told that there would always be gluten free alternatives, but there was only ONE day out of four where they had actually put out the gluten free bread, and I've seen a better selection at other hotels. Plain rice cakes gone moist and very, very dry bread packed in plastic really doesn't do it, so there's definitely room for improvement when it comes to gluten free food. Apart from that, there was a good selection for breakfast, with lots of alternatives when it comes to bread, spreads, meat, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, scrambled eggs, potatoes etc. What I missed was bacon - a good hotel should have bacon in the buffet! Another great thing is that the hotel allows dog. I brought mine, and it was a great hotel to bring your dog, particularly because of the forest situated nearby. It took less than two minutes to get out in the forest for a walk, and we enjoyed many nice walks in the forest.

We stayed at the hotel because of a long layover at the airport. The buffet breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of food, including smoked salmon, liver pate and caviar. Transportation was convenient although a bit expensive (yet still less expensive than a taxi).

Norway is expensive. So also its food. I didn't stay in this hotel but my own hotel's restaurant was under construction so this was the only decent (so I thought at the time) option for dinner. It was packed with a big group of elderly people, all plundering the buffet. Looking at those mangled plates, I chose to pick something from the menu. There it started: the bread rolls were hard and dried out, the glass of red wine so so, and the starter a weird combination of a cold salad with shrimps and melted cheese. Only the main dish (a vegetarian tandoori) looked very promising and was indeed not bad. Except, a small bowl of green lentils... Really? Oh, and what's with the card playing Dutch 60+ after their dinner? Is the restaurant also the recreation room? Quality? Not this time. My recent stay in the Quality Hotel in Stockholm and food at their restaurant was way better than this one. Seems quality levels are not the same within the same brand. Sorry Quality hotel, you couldn't convince me on this one.

We stayed one afternoon/night here between flights and found it to quite enjoyable. The hotel is quiet even though they seem to have large conference groups there. The staff was excellent and prompt in their service. They helped deliver our lost luggage and answered any questions we had promptly. It seemed that there were some young people undergoing training at the check-in desk and I have to commend them on excellent customer service. The restaurant seemed a bit pricey and not too much of a choice for a la carte dinner, but we did enjoy what we ordered (I can't remember what). The server was a charming, funny fellow who also was quite a good salesman. Everyone spoke good English and was nice to us. If you don't want to spend too much or just want to stay in your room (particularly if your luggage is delayed and you don't have a change of clothes), I recommend ordering pizza to your room. They have a deal with a nearby pizza place and it gets added to your bill which is quite easy to deal with. Please note the 'shuttle' from the airport is a normal bus and it is not free!!
