Went with my 3 year old. The hotel is very central if you are going to "Lilleputthammer" or "Hunderfossen family park." It also has a great playing area both inside and outside for kids. Also a childs disco at night. Very good. My daughter really enjoyed herself, which of course was great for both her and myself :) The room unfortunately was disapointing. It was extremely warm, so we had to sleep with an open window. Our room faced out to the parking lot, so there were alot of activity all night. Had a bad night with very much noise both from the hall and the parking lot. Very grateful for the good facilities for kids, but the hotel itself was a little disapointing. Good breakfast and nice staff by the way

We stayed one night at the hotel this summer on our way from Oslo to Trondheim, in order to give our four-year-old daughter the Lilleputthammer experience. Our family of four had booked a junior suite with a baby cot for our one-year-old. The room was very, very dated and shabby. Hopefully the room was clean, but I'm not sure as because of the wear. It was a huge disappointment for the adults, however - the kids didn't mind. They also enjoyed the childrens check-in and the small play-area in the basement. Hotel was crowded - which is good for business - and hopefully the hotel management will spend some of the revenue on refurbishment soon. Service was ok, but not extraordinary.

My family and I stayed for one night, luckily. All the staff, except for one of the receptionists, were in a permanently bad mood, and could not be bothered to greet us with a smile or welcome us. After recieving our ridiculusly over charged room, we found it to be in bad shape, no soap, missing towels. The window was broken and could not be closed. The beds were tiny, and the extra bed we ordered for our five year old was just a well used matress on the floor. A very dusty, dirty floor that is! The current state of the hotel was surprisingly bad. The pool was tiny and over crowded, but we dont blame the hotel for that! The worst thing was tha service and the staff. The waitors couldn't be bothered to help us, or make an effort to get the answers we needed about the food. We need allergy friendly food, and only the "grown up food" was marked with contents, and no one could help us with information about the kids buffet. Seeing that our kid could not any of the desserts they offerede, we asked if she could have one of the ice creams that were handed out for free at the reception, but that was "impossible"... One of the waitors lost a soft bolied egg right next to us during breakfast when she was cleaning up (it happenens, i know, that's not the problem), and she clearly saw it, but shem just sighed and didn' pick it up. The egg stayed there for half an hour, whit at least three other waitors also noticing it, and not doing anything about it!!! a hundred kids ran over it and smudges it into the carpet, but non of the staff bothered to pick it up. They all walked around with a hopeless look on their face, and seemed to hate their job. they cleaned half our table, picked up some of the used plates, end just wandered off, and didn't come back to get teh rest.. Not one smile! The hotel was suitable for kids, seeing that there was a lot of activities for kids with trampolines, bouncing castles etc, but they were not available until late in the afternoon/night, so we didn't get to enjoy them for more than halv an hour before bedtime. We might be overly negative, but it just kept getting worse and worse, and after a while it all becomes bad because you are just to fed up. A poorly maintained hotel is not all that bad if the staff is great, but the staff was the worse I have experienced. we understand that things can get crazy during high season, but this was just unbelievable.
