Conveniently located close by ski resort Hafjell. Not really walking distance (approx 1,5 km). Ok hotel, but starting to get a bit worn and a refurbishment of the rooms and walkways would lift the total experience. Lobby and restuarant has a nice ski lodge touch.
Booked a double bed room för 1390 NOK including breakfast which we considered good value considering late booking. Good healthy breakfast with excellent choice yet poor choice of bread. The restaurants evening buffee offer is not at all worth it. 385 NOK, all you can eat. We wished the food had been hot and actually tasted something. The a la carte on the other hand is great, which good selection of meat and fish. Well prepared and executed food, almost an experience.
Pool/Spa area is a bit worn out and simple. Feels like a school gym. Nice to have a swimmingpool, but to call it a spa area is quite an overstatement. The sauna is pretty small and holds 4-6 people. 2 showers. The jacuzzi is built into the swimming pool and not to be considered a jacuzzi as you would expect it. It bubbles but cold and not one bit relaxing, Quite a disappointment honestly.
Bar opens at 6pm Saturday?! The thirsty visitor better bring a personal cooler.
Its location is convenient and the value is OK, but being one of Norways top skiing resorts you could expect more from a Choice Hotel. Hopefully they start a refurbish programme and make this decent hotell to a price worthy ski lodge experience.
More suitable for families, group events.
