This was a very clever hotel. You can tell there are a lot of thoughts going into its design. I would call this a life-style hotel. There are little innovations along the way which makes me often said to myself - oh gosh someone thought of that?! The location is amazing. It is in the newer part of Oslo and its close by the water. There are plenty of dining options. I absolutely enjoyed my stay there. I would highly recommend it to any traveler.

My first visit to Oslo was to visit a good friend of mine, he lives outside the city, but I wanted something close to everything, and The Thief delivered. The hotel is very artsy and urban, but still has a very warm feel to it. The staff always has a smile, and all seem to really enjoy their job (which my friend says can be rare in Oslo). The bartender makes a mean drink, we went through the entire drink menu, everything was unique and delicious, my only complaint is that the bar doesn't open until 1800, far to late, 1600 would be much better. However, they do direct you up to the Thief FOODBAR, which will serve you wine and beer from 1130 onward. Rooms: Lushly appointed, great bold colors, I had room overlooking the harbor with a small balcony, it was perfect. Also if you forget anything, and I mean anything, they offer it in the room, got your white shirt dirty just before your big meeting, no problem, there's one in the drawer for purchase, lost your cuff links, again no problem. It's a pretty amazing selection of items. Turn down service provides you with a warm thermos of water and a lovely evening tea bag, great touch. Airport Transfer: Now this is pretty amazing, and nothing like I have ever experienced before, well worth the money. Pick up is the usual, however they meet you right as you come off the plane, excellent. It's the drop off that's out of this world. Pick up from the hotel, I flew to London on 23 Dec, so it was bound to be a busy traffic day, with that said there was a huge accident with traffic at a standstill, no problem, my drive knew all the back roads and got me to the airport in record time, where I was met by an Airport Fairy. I say that because he performed magic, he checked me into my flight, took me through the short fast track line in security, then, if you haven't been, Oslo airport has a weird passport control once you're already in the gates area, this line can be terrible, I mean 100's of people long. We were standing in the non-EU passport line (which was far longer), when we were approached by the airline representative who checked me into my flight, we were pulled out of the terribly long passport line and taken to the front of the cue, what??? Amazing. Once to the gate, the same airport fairy accompanied me onto the plane and stowed my bags. I mean I'm a seasoned traveler, this was so unexpected, with this level of service they made me feel like a celebrity. Amazing job Thief, to both you and your airport staff. I was blown away, thank you for the amazing visit, I will be back.

Having been forced to lay over in Oslo due to a fault on our SAS flight from Tromso to Oslo, We were fortunate enough to find accommodation at The Thief. We found the hotel to be very modern with quirky items placed around the hotel. I cannot comment too much on the hotel as we only spent one night. I can say that the rooms were large and very comfortable. The beds and pillows were also very comfortable. The resturant had a menu that was a bit eclectic for our taste that evening, although I was advised that they produced a fine dining experience. Breakfast was not extensive, but good and sufficient. The room had a bar fridge as well as an interesting draw with various essential items for sale. The items varied from the standard tooth brush to underwear for men or women, a shirt, tie, socks or a small sex kit , including a mini vibrator.Quirky !!! Worth a visit when in Oslo.
