The best spa I have been on. Good location. Great service. Our room was a bit small, and we could see right in to the windows of other rooms where people was changing their clothes etc, so we had to use the curtains all the time (to avoid that people could see us). The quality of the breakfast was good, but the selection could be better. It was difficult to find a free table at the breakfast.

My partner and I stayed here mid April and it was literally perfect! We stayed on a Thursday night, so the spa was quiet with hardly anyone using it. We spent the entire day lounging between the various pools and steam rooms/saunas and loved every second of our time there. I would challenge anyone to find a sauna with a more amazing view than the one at Farris Bad overlooking the ocean - absolutely incredible. Breakfast the next day was just perfect, with a great selection of hot and cold foods, we couldn't have asked for more. I have absolutely no criticisms of this hotel and its staff and would go back here again in a second.

We stayed at Farris bad for two nights, and took a total of three spa-treatments - one each separately and one together. Breakfast and dinner was included, though drinks were not. The room We stayed in a Superior room with a beach view and balcony. The room was spacious and featured both a shower and a bath tub, as well as a window between the bathroom and the beds. Only one power outlet by the beds. The balcony had faux rattan furniture and a beach view with evening sun. The beds were very soft - too much so in my view. All in all not bad. The add-ons We had ordered a plate of fruit and chocolate to the room, as well as a room service "spa special" breakfast. Some of the fruit on the plate were mouldy. The breakfast was not delivered at the prearranged time, and we had to call down to the reception to get it. When it arrived, it was the regular breakfast tray, with coffee and cold cuts, rather than the spa special with green tea and yoghurt with fruits. We complained and had the same plate of cold cuts delivered, which we rejected. In the end, we got (sort of) what we had ordered, but it arrived an hour and a half late. Both add-on items were removed from our bill. The bar The bar serves a selection of snacks and drinks. The wraps are excellent and we highly recommend them. We ordered a vegetarian focaccia, which was served with a skewer of vegetables, cheese and ham. Very odd indeed. We also ordered a virgin royal, which the server did not know, and which we had to point out in the menu. He then served a virgin mojito. The dinner Farris bad quite clearly aspire to deliver a fine dining experience. That falls flat on two points; they try to engender a formal dining hall, but some of the staff are scruffy to say the least. Also, they play electronics music with a heavy bass-line, quite mood disturbing. The food is excellent. We had the salmon, cod and beetroot entrees, all of which were well balanced and tasty, and beautifully presented. We had the pumpkin risotto and the lamb variation, which again were excellent and beautiful. For dessert, we had the dehydrated watermelon, which wasn't nearly dehydrated enough, and overall too sweet and badly balanced, and the excellent lemon and almond tart, served with a beautifully balanced and balancing apple sorbet. The first evening was a very busy dinner service, and the service suffered greatly. They should have had at least two more waiters on the floor to handle the dining room. Also disappointing is the fact that there was no list of the beers available, and only a small selection of their non-alcoholic offerings. That latter point is particularly disappointing because they cater specifically to pregnant women. The spa In all likelihood, most people visiting Farris bad do so to use the spa. The spa area is spacious and offers a number of rooms featuring among other things a tepidarium, herbal sauna, and natural spring pool, as well as a steam sauna, Finnish sauna and soft sauna. There is also a lounge with complementary fruit and tea, as well as some drinks on offer (not complimentary). The treatments were excellent and relaxing. We had the King's hamam, Mother to be, and Deluxe for two treatments and met capable and charming staff who put us at our ease. All three are highly recommended. Conclusion Farris bad is a place for rest and relaxation, and the atmosphere builds up under this. As no children under the age of 16 are allowed in the spa, this is not a place for families, but instead perfect for adult couples who want a break from the world. The staff are generally nice and polite, and always helpful. In total, though there are things that could do with improvements (staff knowledge of the menus items offered, staffing on busy nights, and overly soft beds) I do recommend spending time at Farris bad.

We booked a lovely Suite & Spa treatment package from Friday to Saturday. This Spa Hotel is about 2 hours from Oslo. When we arrived we got told we could not get the spa treatments we already booked and paid for because it was too late. We had to wait for the room keys and got told that they did not offer any parking space for our car. We have an electric car and need to charge it during the night. We got told that the only place to super charge would be Stavern, which is 15 minutes by car... Bad start, no apologies from staff and a feeling that we were not important customers. We checked into the Kaupthing Suite, it was freezing cold. We have stayed at lovely hotels before and small details like a cold room,no milk for coffees and no bathrobes/slippers in the room makes it a bit annoying. A SPA hotel should have slippers and bathrobes in the room. We had a nice 3 course dinner with wine in the hotel restaurant, the best part was the Fish Soup, great choice. The Swedish bartender was great, he made great cocktails and had plenty of smiles and charm. The next day we tried the SPA area which this hotel is famous for. It was so crowded and we were in a line for almost every room. Lots of naked people had a swim in the sea right outside the window which was not very nice. I could not relax in there-felt like a Kiddy land without the kids....My husband got told off for having too long shorts? We checked out, drove to Stavern to charge the car and decided never to return. The hotel need to improve customer service, to get a charger for electric cars and inform cutomers about the rigid Spa rules and nudity. The price we paid for a Suite did not match the expectations. Its a shame because the location is fantastic and we will pass it this summer but will not visit this time.

Hello Martine Strømme... N, Thank you for your review of our hotel. I am sorry to hear that you felt the service did not meet your expectations this time. Our guests experience is very important to us, and I will pass your dissatisfaction forward to our department leaders here at the hotel. The spa has very specific guidelines regarding textiles, and long shorts are not permitted for hygiene reasons. Isolated sections of the spa are textile free areas, and we are proud of our uniquely continental spa culture, but I apologise if you found the nudity uncomfortable. All of our rooms have slippers and bathrobes provided, so I apologise if these were not made visible to you. I apologize that we did not meet your expectations this time, and I do hope that you decide to come and see us again another time. Regards, Andreas Nilsson GM
