Clarion Hotel® Umeå

Excellent hotel room with brand new equipments. Delicious breakfast. Interesting roof top restaurant. One thing I did not try was the Spa section. But overall, I strongly recommend the stay for Business or Family trip. Will go there next time again.

I stayed here 2 nights on business from the UK. I understand this is a new hotel. It shows. Great location, stylish communal decor (except the pictures of pretty young women everywhere- makes it feel like a large hair salon) Room is well styled and bed super comfy. I mean, I checked out the brand of the mattress comfy. Little niggle, lights need your card inserted into a slot. Fine. But when room is pitch black you can’t find said slot. A little guiding pilot light is needed please. Also my hairdryer was dodgy but that’s bad luck I guess. Back to room lights, there are so many switches all working in different ways that after 2 nights it’s still trial and error. Staff are smiling and helpful but further training required. Like the barman who when asked for a glass of Chardonnay lined up all the red wines on the bar. Food. Here there’s a problem. I ate one dish in Nor the wanna-be-destination restaurant on the 13th floor. I had just arrived after 8 hours travelling and was tired so just had an aubergine starter. Sadly aubergine wasn’t cooked fully and was rubbery still. I had a veggie burger delivered on room service next day and that was watery and over peppery. And for the money, no fries?! Really?! Breakfast has great choice but plates are cold so by the time you sit down it’s all cold. And cooked tomatoes should be kept warm too surely?! So. 3/5 this time. I’ll suggest colleagues try elsewhere for a year or so. Thanks

This is my second visit to Clarion Umeå. Rooms are very nice, but restaurant should improve. I had worst salad ever in the lobby bar. I would expect to have fresh food with high standards. Huge disappointment!! I understand that hotel is still ramping up, but please don’t overlook your customers.

The hotel is new and some routines need tweaking. I would expect more from a hotel in this standard, so I hope some of the tweaking will be in place for our next stay. I will probably choose this hotel again based on the very comfortable rooms, but hesitate to do so before they have worked out some minor issues with the check-in and the coffee-machines in the breakfast areas. The "spa" is not really a spa, it's a pool and a dry sauna with a small bar.

WOW! What a fantastic hotel. The feeling, the decor, the rooms, the food, the drinks (and everything else) were absolutely top class and absolutely magical 👌🏻 Also the service and all the staff were first class; so incredibly nice, engaged, happy and professional. And with the town's only rooftop bar and the cozy SPA, everyone just has to pay a visit to Clarion Umeå. Definitely the best hotel in town ⭐️
