A nice little hotel, in Trollhättan. Friendly atmosphere and I was greeted as a valuable guest. In the room price, evening meal is included and a very nice buffet was served. If you require a vegetarian alternative inform the reception at check in.. My room was clean and comfortable, really liked the bed. At this stay I didn´t use the gym but there is one available. One upside is that you can park your car in the courtyard no extra charge. Breakfast was good, with the usual assortment. Good value for money.

This was the worst Clarion hotel I stayed in during my two week tour of Sweden. It is tired, needs renovation and offers poor value - particularly in comparison with other Clarion Collection hotels. Located on a busy main street (which is currently being dug up with lots of roadworks and therefore difficult to park) - the Kung Oscar was really disappointing. The standard room I was offered was terrible - small, cramped, with poor facilities and in severe need of being renovated. There is no airco in the hotel either. Breakfast was poor - limited choice of poor quality products - the evening meal 'offered' was also poor - with dishes not being replenished - in a very small and cramped dining room. The young staff tried to do their best but seemed run off their feet. Overall a very disappointing and rare experience of a hotel that I would never recommend or go back to. They even didnt both to clean my room and when I pointed this out they didnt seem particularly bothered or interested. There is not alot of choice of hotels or things to do in Trollhattan but the low standards of the Kung Oscar shocked and surprised me - particularly considering the room rate and the fact that other Clarion Collection hotels are good. One to avoid.

Dear PGRbrussels, Thank you for taking your time and express your feelings here on TripAdvisor! I am sorry to hear that we were the worst Clarion hotel you stayed at during your tour of Sweden, that is very disappointing to hear off course. I am also surprised to hear that for instance the breakfast was poor compared to other Clarion Collection hotels as it is the exact same standard, products and content as the other hotels with two exceptions, we serve pancakes as well, not all Collection hotels do that. Regarding the room cleaning, I am have taken the problem with the interest from the staff onward to the Front Office Manager, however we do have a project called Sweet Dreams with a sign hanging on your door saying no thanks to cleaning. If you don't remove this from the door we donate money to UNICEF in their work to offer children a safe place to sleep instead of going into child prostitution and this may be the reason that you didn't get your room cleaned during the day. However, the interest from our staff is off course not acceptable and would still have been fixed upon you mentioning this to them. I have not heard from you in any other way then Tripadvisor and I would gladly like to hear more from you, feel free to contact me directly by email on marcus.eriksson.nordlund@choice.se if there is anything more you would like to add so we can continue our progress in creating the best guest experience possible. The hotel has a small garden parking which normally must be reserved in advance. However the entrance is narrow and it might be a better solution to park in the parking house 200m away. The price is the same and you then pay to the receptionist who will give you a parking card to put behind the screen. The room is clean and nice, but has no air condition. It got a bit hot during the night and I did not sleep well. There is a deposit box in the room. The wifi worked well. The breakfast is good. Tonight's Special is included in the room price. This is in fact a dinner buffet with a soup and one dinner dish. We got pork filet which was very good.
