The Japanese baths are the heart of Yasuragi. Here you will have the opportunity to experience the traditional Japanese ablution ritual. Then go on and bathe in warm water, either inside or outside surrounded by wonderful pine trees. It's a cleansing ceremony for both the body and soul.
The ablution ritual
Your bathing ceremony begins in the ablution (wash) room. There are a number of wooden buckets and stools lined up along the wall. This is where you wash yourself. Use slow, small movements that gravitate towards your heart. Then fill your bucket with water, hold it above your head and rinse. Over and over again. Once cleansed, immerse yourself in the hot spring waters in the ablution room - right up to your chin. Try and maintain a relaxed tempo.
Hot springs and sauna
After the ablution ritual, relax under the pine trees in our outdoor hot spring pool or unwind in the sauna while enjoying the view, and then take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool. There are plenty of sun loungers for you to choose from around our 25 m long indoor pool, as well as a teahouse for anyone seeking a little extra privacy or seclusion. A relaxed tempo is what's most important here.
To get the most from your visit, we recommend you attend our Yasuragi introduction. Learn how to cleanse like they do in Japan, how to tie your Yukata properly, then unwind and leave your everyday stresses behind you.
Pamper yourself with a spa treatment while you're here. We have treatments for both body and mind, from massage and facials to colour and sound therapy.
We also offer a range of activities that promote inner calm and renewed energy. Find serenity through Zen meditation, awaken your body with Do In, replenish your energy levels with Qigong or improve your balance and flexibility with Yoga. Our activities are included in the entrance fee to the baths and you don't need to make a reservation.
We serve tea and fruit in the lounge area. We also sell a selection of tasty little rawfood dishes here, to keep energy levels up.
Entry to the baths
As an overnight guest, you can book a package that includes access to the Japanese baths and our activities when you make your reservation. We also have a selection of day packages for non-guests.
You must be at least 16 yrs old to visit Yasuragi. Visitors of all ages are welcome to Yasuragi Kids during the summer.
