The Japanese baths are the heart of Yasuragi. Here you will have the opportunity to experience the traditional Japanese ablution ritual. Then go on and bathe in warm water, either indoors or outdoors, surrounded by wonderful pine trees. Look forward to a cleansing ceremony for both body and soul.
The ablution ritual
Your bathing ceremony begins in the ablution (wash) room. There are a number of wooden buckets and stools lined up along the wall. This is where you wash yourself. Use slow, small movements that gravitate towards your heart. Then fill your bucket with water, hold it above your head and rinse. Over and over again. Once cleansed, immerse yourself in the hot spring waters in the ablution room - right up to your chin. Try and maintain a relaxed tempo.
Hot springs and sauna
In the Japanese ablution room you sit on a wooden stool and wash yourself. This is where you start to relax and begin to find harmony and inner peace. After the ablution ritual you can relax in the hot springs under the pine trees. There are plenty of other options for relaxation - enjoy a steam sauna with salt, a carbonated bath, foot bath and more. However, to fully understand the wonders of these experiences, you'll have to try them for yourself!
To get the most from your visit, we recommend you attend our Yasuragi introduction session. Learn the Japanese art of cleansing your body and how to tie your yukata, before you go on to unwind and leave your everyday stresses behind you.
Pamper yourself with a spa treatment while you're here. We have treatments for both body and mind including massages, facials and more.
We also offer a range of activities that promote peace and tranquility. Find serenity through Zen meditation, awaken your body with Do In, replenish your energy levels with Qigong or improve your balance and flexibility with Yoga. Our activities are included in the entry fee to the baths and you don't need to make a reservation.
We serve tea and fruit in the lounge area.
