Södermalm by foot

Although it is easy to take public transport in Södermalm, it is definitely fun to experience the area on foot. Capture the atmosphere of the crowded Nytorget or Mariatorget, or take a detour from Götgatan and stroll into the trendy neighbourhoods of SoFo (south of Folkungagatan). There are also several calm green oases. You can take a break from the city's pulse. In the Tantolunden and Vitabergsparken parks, take a picnic or just relax on the grass.

It is no wonder that several of Stockholm's best viewpoints are located in Södermalm. With its unique location on the Katarinaberget, there are several viewpoints to choose from. From Monteliusvägen, Slussen, Katarinahissen, Skinnarviksberget and Katarinavägen you can look out over Gamla stan, Stockholms stadshus (the city hall), Kungsholmen and the entire Riddarfjärden!!

The trend-sensitive Söder is just as good at renewing itself and keeping up with trends as it is at playing and experimenting with old types of expressions.
