Clarion Collection® Hotel Kompaniet

Good: The hotel is in a great location. Nice walk into Nyköping. The room had a great view of the river. Bad: The general feel of the hotel was outdated and the service very sloppy. Staff hanging around chatting while the toilets had tissue all over them and old food was left out on the tables. A delivery had been sitting in the entrance for our entire stay. The fika comprised of dry shop bought cake and coffee. If you want oat milk you haveto ask....each time you get a coffee! Outside tables were wet and chairs blown over. Justa general lack of care unfortunately. Ugly: The breakfast was poor and the smoothy had gone sour and separated. We were just so disappointed.

The rooms were lovely, located right on the harbour and a short stroll to the castle and town. What we were amazed at was the evening meal. We didn’t expect much but got a lovely buffet and they bent over backwards to accommodate the vegans amongst us. A simple but tasty Fika (coffee and cake) was also included in the price.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a round trip. Nice location near the harbor. The room itself is clean and spacious. Windows could use some cleaning. Reception staff was very friendly. The only clear drawback: the hotel staff allowed sparrows to fly from the terrace into the restaurant and buffet area and closed the terrace door only after being asked to do so. Allegedly, it would otherwise be too hot they said. Absolutely unacceptable for hygienic reasons.

We stayed one night during the Christmas weekend. We started with the included"fika" and a nice walk along the water. It was refreshing to take a family jacussi after the walk. Only one party/family is allowed in the jacussi --very Corona safe. The restaurant was also very corona safe with limited number of people at one time in the serving area and gloves for guests. All personnel had safety masks. The included dinner this night was hamburger with sides and potatoes. We were surprised that there was no soup nor variety of bread and butter as is usual, just the hamburger bread itself. It was not as good as the dinners we have had in this hotel or in other Clarion collection hotels before. We had also higher expectations during Christmas season. This dinner was the worst we have had. Breakfast was normally good but no extras during the season which you find in other hotels like "lussekatter" or special bread. Parking across the hotel is quite reasonable at 60 SEK per 24 hours. The hotel has a small gym for very light training, no heavy weights. We celebrated a birthday in the family and the hotel helped with ordering flowers and supported with very nice balloons and cards, as well as a reserved corner table.

The hotel is located near the water and the castle. Lovely view from the room and atmosphere perfect breakfast and nice dinner exactly what we needed! They even serve afternoon sweets and fruit and coffee what can you need more?
