I spend allot of my weekends in Stavanger due to work and use various hotels, this one getting a trophy for being the absolute worst. Wish i had read the reviews before booking. The walls are paperthin. At midnight i went down to the reception because there was so much snoring in the next room that our bed was almost vibrating and my kids couldn’t sleep. They said they had nothing else available but 1 othe room but it was so small tha it wouldnt fit 1 adult and 2 tweens. I thought that was strange because the hotel looked half empty but just took earplugs for us and thanked her for the efford. Next day when leaving for work the houskeeper came and told us that thei had another room for us. We started to hurry packing to change rooms as i was getting late for work. I asked on our way to the other room if it was rhe same size and she told me it was..... approximately the same but she would not be folding out the extra bed since then there would be no space afterwords and that we needed to move furniture to fold it out so better we just do it ourselves in the evening before getting to sleep. She told me that to get a larger bed we would have to pay more! Well, they moved us to a room on the back side of the hotel and close to the bar “party street end” which is allot more noisy and by 2 am my kids were crying because of the noice. None of us could get sleep until after the bars closed and our sunday was ruined after not getting a proper sleep. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration day for my twins who had their birthday that day turned into a drive straight home to get to bed! They close the coffe machine with freshly brewed coffe/espresso etct after breakfast! And for the whole day and evening you only get access to filter coffee. How cheap is that!? Evening meal was mearly ok. The meat was so though that you couldn’t cut throug it but the salad was good... Don’t even get me started with this nonsence about taking in the door sign every day if you want your room cleaned. They donate 10 nok (well under 1 dollar) for every night you dont accept room cleaning which is just means for the hotel to save money on cleaning. Every person knows it costs a whole lot more than that to clean your room. Save your money and sanity and stay somewhere else. Looking at the reviews, people have the same complaints since 2015 at least so I guess they aren’t doing anything to improve.

Stayed here for 4 weeks for work. The hotel is very nice, lovely and clean, but some of the rooms could do with a bit of TLC. I tried 3 different rooms during my stay (to try to improve the wifi situation), and there was always a small niggling issue with each one (just small things, and when i mentioned them to reception they were quickly rectified). The wifi in the rooms is very poor, i could not connect to it half the time when i was sat at the desk far away from the door.I had to sit on the corner of my bed with my laptop to get it to connect - i think they need more boosters out in the corridors. the staff were all amazing, helpful and friendly. the complimentary food on the night is......OK, can't see any better than that really. They do a lot of fish (which i don't like), but the location of the hotel makes it easy to find a restaurant that you will like - Stavanger is full of lovely places to eat breakfast is pretty standard for a Norwegian hotel - i just wish they'd cook the eggs a bit longer......and the fresh bread is amazing there is a car park (nothing to do with the hotel) right next door and this costs about £20 to park overnight can get noisy at night due to its proximity to bars and night clubs

Acceptable but debatable value for money

Nice location facing the harbour and stavanger old town. I was so lucky with the weather that the amazing harbour facing room I booked was super hot when we checked in. There was no way to make it cooler. The bottom handle on the window was broken so one can only open the window vertically not horizontally. Raised all these with a staff which to be fair it was quite late and she was on her own, she gave us one other room as an option (the only one available, I’m told) but it wasn’t harbour facing and I would have to drag the extra bed myself (!). So we didn’t opt to change rooms. Dinner (or as I later found out was a simple/light meal) was adequate but nothing special. Bread was fresh though. Breakfast had larger selection. Booked a superior double room for 3 and it was a little tight, not sure it was great value for money. Plus I stayed on a Mon night and they seem to lower their rates only on weekends. We didn’t have issues with large ships coming into harbour or weekend nightlife causing noise, but with the window open (even albeit only vertically) one can hear even one single passerby talking on the phone. That’s how it is I guess!

Dear Cristin, Thank you so much for taking time to give us great review after your stay with us! I'm so glad you enjoyed our unique location at the harbour and hope that Stavanger's puls wasn't beating to fast during your stay. In the weekdays the occupancy is very high, so it's correct that the prices are lower in most weekends. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience you had regarding changing the room, but I'm happy to hear that you despite of this, enjoyed your stay. Again; thank you so much for your great review - hope to see you back with us on your next visit to Stavanger. Yours truly June, GM
