The hotel is part of the central railway station; Opera and the new Munch-museum are just two minutes away. You can't be more central than this. My room was OK; a bit on the small side and I was astonished to have a bed looking ... on a wall. In general the bed is torned so you look into the room, window or towards the door, but mine faced a wall.

The good 1. The position of the hotel is great. 2. The breakfast is spledid 3. The WiFi seems to work well The less than good 1. The rooms are average 2. The beds are not that comfortable 3. No kettle, no fridge 4. Don't expect any help with your bags, but do expect attitude with a playful tone. Perhaps it is just the Norwegian way.

Our first challenge was to find the Hotel. It is in the train station on the street level and there is an entrance thru the Italian restaurant or from the Square outside. We paid for a standard room as Norway is expensive. Our room overlooked the roof of the station and was on the small side. The bathroom was small but clean. If a hotel insists on liquid soap ( as many now do) at the very least the dispenser should give you a decent squirt of liquid and not a droplet. No jug in the room but coffee from a machine in the foyer. Too bad if they run out of milk. The staff were not interested in getting any more when I asked. The buffet breakfast was good and included in the price. The hotel vibe is groovy. I guess I'm getting old, the décor didn't impress me, I don't want a long walk to my room, I want to read about the city on paper in the room, not ask the staff and I certainly do not want to be told to 'push here baby' in the bathroom to get a droplet of liquid soap.

This hotel is attached to a mall that leads into the train station, very convenient for travelers. I'd describe the ambience as hipster, very cool graphics in the lobby and friendly young people running it. We opted for the less expensive rooms which turned out to have rather challenging steps up to the loft (see photo). In truth we were out and busy both days we were there, so it was just a place for sleep, and as such, it was adequate. I would say that if you have any physical challenges, it would be prudent to go for a more expensive room all on one level. Nice breakfast buffet as well.

This is a most conveniently placed hotel for transport and food. Once you learn your way around the station it's a doddle. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to thank Caroline who organised a doctor for me and Mohumet who showed the way to free coffee. On our first stay, we had a room overlooking the square, which was a great source of entertainment. The room was of a decent size and comfortable without being over the top. Our second room was not suitable for us.....we are not spritely young things. It's mezzanine bedspace with the trendy split steps, I found difficult. If we had been staying more than 1 night, we would have asked to change but we were tired and couldn't be bothered so we managed. I would not let this stop me staying at this hotel again but I would be sure to request not to have one of the 4 mezzanine room. Breakfast was fine and there were lots of places around to eat. If you are visiting Oslo, this hotel is certainly worth considering.
