Amerikalinjen

We had such a great stay at Amerikalinjen. The staff was with no exception very friendly, serviceminded and helpful from the minute we walked in. The building itself is located in the heart of Oslo, and used to be the head quarters for the shipping company Amerikalinjen, initially sailing between Norway and Amerika. The architecture is grand inside and out and provides a great atmosphere. The hotel renovation accentuates and includes some of the original charachteristic interior and features very well. The 3-course dinner in the Atlas restaurant was so delicious and served by yet another serviceminded and friendly staff member. The amazing breakfast trays were served at the table and was a prefered alternative to the buffet. Again served by amazingly friendly staff. I will truly recommend this hotel and we can't return soon enough.

Our first choice for the celebration of a Birthday! We go back to Amerikalinjen again and again, for excellent service. You feel well looked after by all staff. The rooms and bathrooms are great. Dinner in Atlas, even though restricted by Covid-19, was great. We will be back!

This hotel offers amazing service from the moment you arrive. Very welcoming and service-minded staff. The interior is a mix between modern and old, and every room you walk into looks fantastic. The room was clean and had a lovely bed. The rooms are also very well isolated, we barely heard the tram as it passed by which was a major plus. Even though the buffet was closed because of Corona the breakfast was very good with loads of things to choose from. The waitress was very attentive and kept checking that we had everything we needed. Would stay here again!

Really, really great service. Helpful, friendly, over the top. Beautiful hotel with the most amazing interior. Love the concept and all the details. There's been so much thought and love behind this hotel. Great rooms, amazing beds. Wonderful breakfast.

From start to finish, our stay at the Amerikalinjen was simply superb. I have visited their bar before (Pier 42) so I knew what to expect from the hotel itself - outstanding service and a truly pleasant stay. From the moment we started the check in process, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome. All COVID related information was given to us immediately, and the services that were not available were explained so we knew what to expect for the stay. Our host at check-in was lovely and really got our experience off to the best start. We had a room with an excellent view of the Opera House and the new Deichmann Library here in Oslo. Being a guest in our own city was a truly 'luxury' experience at this hotel. The room was immaculate and well stocked with everything you could need. The TV was large and allowed streaming from our devices easily. Also - the bathroom products smelled amazing! Having stayed at many, many hotels - I can honestly say this was the best one yet. The service, house, and most of all the people really make this place special. We didn't want to leave!! The Amerikalinjen really sets the precedent for service and experience. And best of all - this is displayed across all facets of the hotel - Pier 42, Atlas (the restaurant) and the hotel itself. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - a truly excellent and memorable experience. I cannot wait to return! Merry Christmas to all at the Amerikalinjen!
