The Clarion Collection Hotel Hammer is located in central Lillehammer on Storgatan, the city's well-preserved main street. The hotel is contained within some of the most classic craft and trade buildings in the city. We always offer our guests a complimentary evening meal.

Hotel Hammer enjoys a central location on the historical Storgatan in Lillehammer. This well-preserved area with its characteristic low wooden houses is an experience in itself. From here, the city's selection of over 120 different shops and restaurants is close by. Furthermore, Lillehammer's main attractions are within a comfortable distance, such as Lillehammer Art Museum, Lillehammer Olympic Park and Hunderfossen family park.

Skiing in Lillehammer
Lillehammer is an excellent base for ski enthusiasts. The city is perhaps the largest skiing paradise in Norway, made famous by the Winter Olympics of 1994. You'll find several miles of prepared and floodlit trails for cross country skiing here. From here, you're also only a short car journey from Hafjell Ski Resort and just 15 minutes by car from Hafjell Alpine Center. An hour away you'll find an additional four popular ski areas, with access to both cross-country and downhill skiing.
Hotel history
The oldest parts of Hotel Hammer were built in an area with a long history. The area became best known in the mid-1800s, when the merchant and politician Torsten Lunde started textile manufacturing here and established the area as a trading venue. Lunde came to mean a great deal to Lillehammer, and later on became the city's mayor. These days the hotel is spread throughout many smaller historical buildings. During the 1900s, the famous Lund furniture was manufactured here, and master carpenter Einar Austlid's workshop was located in one of the buildings.
