Close to shopping and Domkyrkan

Hamar has a settlement history that runs close to four thousand years back and today there are several historic buildings in the city. Clarion Collection Hotel Astoria, on Torggata 23, is ideally located in central Hamar. From here you are close to both domkyrkan (the cathedral) from the 1100s, the railway museum and Vikingastadion (the Viking Stadium), which was built for the Olympic Games in Lillehammer in 1994. With its central location, you are close to modern clothing stores and small charming interior stores. It is easy to get to and from Hamar - the city is a main junction for the railway, Riksväg 25 and Europaväg 6. Oslo's major airport Gardermoen is also only 1 hour's drive from the city and the bus and train station are a few hundred metres from the hotel.

Magnificent scenery and interesting culture

Hamar is a lively mediaeval town located at Mjösa - the largest lake in Norway. In the city you will find museums, historic buildings and a lot of culture. Every year there are several music festivals with big and well-known bands. Hamar also offers excellent conditions for outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, cycling and golf. Skibladner is the world's oldest preserved paddle-steamer that runs on schedule and it can take you back in time. Glide across the lake, enjoy and relax in the magnificent surroundings. In Mjösa there are plenty of fish, especially trout, and no fishing licence is required.
