This hotel is located conveniently in the center of downtown Helsinki with walking distance to many spots like the Helsinki Cathedral, the harbor, Market Square, Helsinki Central Station, and plenty of shops and restaurants. Once I saw that they have this Autumn season deal, I booked it right away. It includes a free breakfast buffet every morning, however, you will need to request for a time ticket from the reception due to COVID capacity at that time (September 2021). The reception people are one of the nicest and friendliest. I booked a very basic room which is actually better than I expected. I love how they give you so many pillows, and I love that my room comes with its own fridge and electric kettle. Those things are usually not included in a basic hotel room in most European cities. My only gripe is the wifi. Although I am happy that the wifi is included and is very fast, I am worried that you use one public wifi for the whole hotel. I wish each bedroom would have its own wifi password in case I need to check some websites with confidential information. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Helsinki.

Spent a holiday weekend in Helsinki and stayed alone from Friday to Sunday with my pet. My friend was getting married in Suomenlinna so I chose this hotel over Sokos and Scandic hotels because of the location and good reviews. I had booked a standard double room and checked in right away at 3 pm. I got a room from the 7th floor and at that point I was really glad that with a pet I am not given a room from the first floor (which has happened before when visiting a hotel with a dog). This had I also written as an additional information when booking the room about a month before. I wished to have a nice room with a view. Unfortunately, when I saw the room I was really dissappointed: the room was nothing like in the pictures on the official hotel website. The room looked like a basement. The bottom edge of the window was so high the only thing I could see was the sky. The room was also dark and I felt really cramped. I went back to the reception and let the receptionist to know I was quite unsatisfied with my room. They told me the hotel is full booked and the only thing I can do is pay 20 euros more per night and upgrade to a better room. I had already paid over 160 euros per night. I went back to my room and started to look more closely the room I was supposed to stay the whole weekend. I noticed the shower was really dirty with grime and black mold on the shower walls, there was a big stain on the mattress of the bed, dirt on the corners of the room and on walls, and the closet was broken and looked quite beaten-up. There was also a bad smell at the door. I asked my friend an opinion and one hour later at 4 pm decided to go back to the reception. I asked again if there is anything they can do about it, I asked them to meet me half way. Again the receptionist said that the hotel is full booked. I asked why it was me who got this qualityless room even though I checked in right away at 3 pm and the receptionist answered that the rooms are selected already the day before by the staff. At this point, I reminded that in the first place, I had asked a room with a view. Because the reception was busy at the time I asked if they could call me back as soon as possible. I went to have a dinner with my friend and waited them to call me. I came back to the hotel at 5 pm and there was nobody at the reception desk so I went inside my room and waited. Meanwhile, I send some pictures of the dirt to the reception by email and reminded that I was waiting for them to call, as they had promised. As time went by, I felt really unwanted and humiliated as a guest, felt like they didn't care at all. Even though I was one of the first guests to check in on that day, my case was the last. Finally, after 3 hours of wait at 7 pm, the receptionist called me and offered me a new room. She brought the new key card to me and said they were sorry about this messy room. Nothing but the very minimium. The new room was nice but unfortunately it surely wasn't suitable for a pet as there was no soundproofing at all. Also, the shower was broken and the water temperature was difficult to set right. But I didn't care anymore as I just wanted to go to sleep because my dear friend was getting married the next day. After the visit, the hotel booking system asked me to give them a review. I wrote about my experiences and the Hotel Manager on Duty answered me. Her message had a weird tone as in her opinion, I should be satisfied to have given a new bigger room and the only thing she was sorry about was that the hotel was so booked during that weekend. No responsibility was taken about the long wait, bad quality of customer service, misleading marketing on their website and that I had been offered a room that didn't even meet their own standards. As a compensation, they are offering me a some kind of small discount when visiting them next time. I am sorry but I do not stay at hotels so often and the next stay will be at a place where a quest can trust to have at least a decent hospitality. I recommend to spend your money to another hotel with a better "standard quality"!

I have always liked GLO Hotels because of their slightly better quality impression and small nice details. But the new hotel in Kluuvi was a real disappointment. There has been little attempt at Kluuvi to cover up the marks of the previous owner and that something has been forgotten? The chain has landed at this hotel to the same level of quality as other large hotel chains. Really a shame. The best thing is the central location of the place. Sure the bed was good, breakfast normal but nothing else.
