Great hotel in a good location

Wednesday, May 25, 2016, Budapest, Hungary, istvan_cselenyi

Let it be business or pleasure, I recommend Clarion Stockholm. This hotel has good conference facilities, gym and spa. On the other hand, it is also near to the city, business centers and restaurants.

Well situated hotel in the city - nothing stands out particularly, its a very large conference hotel with lots of people milling around the huge lobby. The rooms are compact, even for Stockholm but are clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are well appointed and fairly standard for a busy hotel like this. Its possible to get good deals so if the price is good take it if only for the excellent location but be prepared for a wait at check-in and some time hanging around at the bar if there is a conference in - we had Swedish teachers who clearly enjoyed the facilities.....

Located in the southern part of the city, quite close to the Globen/Tele2 Arenas, this large hotel is very convenient for almost everything you'd want to see in Stockholm as it's right next to a metro stop and within walking distance of many shops & restaurants. The property itself needs some attention. The lobby and entrance is vast and is really a waste of space, which isn't particularly well maintained. The dust that sits on the giant lamps as you enter is the first thing everyone notices. It's several inches deep! The rooms are quite small, but comfortable and functional, but sparse in amenities. There's shower gel, but that's all they provide in the bathrooms. They are quite clean, but the towels smell of vinegar. Hot water was intermittent and not always reliable. Some rooms come with a kettle and tea/coffee, but not all. There is a day bed to relax and the bed itself is comfortable. There's very little closet space and no iron. Wi-fi is free, but you have to keep logging in. It gets annoying quite quickly. The heating in the room is very temperamental and often didn't work at all. There's a very good buffet breakfast, with many, many options, but the restaurant is often crowded. I never found the right time. The hotel bar is lively, but the dining menu is limited. Certainly not a bad option for Stockholm, but there are cheaper possibilities with better facilities for sure.
