Right in the city centre this hotel is great for sightseeing, the hop on hop off bus has a stop virtually outside the door. Very close to the train station and bus terminal with easy access to the airport via the Flybus or Flystop train. Room was very good with great bed and fab pillows. Breakfast was busy but the food excellent.

Doesn't deserve 4 stars. Poor breakfast, bad service and the relaxation area&pool is a joke.

Only booked this hotel because of the pool and the access to the relaxation area as I was staying over here for my birthday and this was going to be my "treat". After checking in and unpacking, I discovered that, while the room was tidy, the bathroom was very dirty (I dont think it was cleaned at all). I showed the bathroom to the staff and asked them to clean it while I was out at the gym, but they didn't have anyone to clean it so i had to pack again and change rooms. The photos on the webpage do not represent the realistic feel and environment of the relaxation area. The pool & gym are in a dark and cold basement which smelled like an old, humid and moldy underground storage. The water in the pool was very cold and cloudy. It looked like it was not cleaned for a while so I didn't even dare to go in. I thought I would at least enjoy the sauna and steam-room instead, but sauna was not warmer than 30 degrees, which was close to the temperature outside anyway, and the steam room was not turned on at all. There were no instructions (or any obvious signs/pointers) for how to turn on the sauna or the steam room and there were no staff attendants supervising the relaxation area. I also specifically mentioned to the receptionist when I checked in, that I was going to use the relaxation area and asked if there was anything I should know about the use of it, but she didn't say anything about sauna and steam room not being turned on. Then, there are four lifts, but only one of them go to the basement where the gym&pool is. However, it is not possible to specifically call for this lift, so when you call for the lift there in only 25% chance that you will get the one you need to go to the gym as all four lifts respond on the call. Later in the evening, they had to send someone to my room o fix the TV as it wasnt working. I then called the reception and asked if I could get a late check out the next day, but they said I can only get it if I pay 100NOK per hour. I might be a bit naive, but after being checked into a dirty room, then waiting 30min for fixing the TV and it being my birthday and hotel not being busy, I thought that was the least they could have offered. The next disappointment was the terrible breakfast. The selection was poor (I was there 1 hour before the end of brakfast serving), the scrambled eggs were completely cold and there was not much choice of any sides, and no pastries or biscuits (or any other sweet treats) at all. There was a sign saying there was a selection of smoothies, but not one smoothie turned up on that table during the breakfast. And the most important and biggest fault with this breakfast was the terrible coffee. This must be the worst coffee I have ever had in any hotel. I had to leave the coffee after two sips of it and I usually have at least two cups at breakfast.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in Oslo and the hotel was a big disappointment despite staying in a superior category room. The housekeeping was much below standard, the coffee mugs taken away were never replaced and neither were the milk/sugar sachets. The pillows, after the room was done were lying on the floor, one quilt was on the sofa another on the bed , the floor was unswept and tables dirty. The ice bucket from last night was lying there full of water. All in all suffice to say it was a sloppy job. Otherwise location of the hotel is great.
