Clarion Collection® Hotel Aurora

Thank you for our stay. We had an amazing experience. The hotel is located right in the city center (Tromsø Harbour), so it was close to all the attractions. We had a nice view on Tromsø Bridge and mountains from our room window, which we didn’t expect. We also used sauna which was included in the price and booked half an hour on jacuzzi as it was very cheap. The best part was food - breakfast, afternoon cake and dinner were all included in the price. We thought dinner would be small as that was mentioned on the website but we were positively surprised that it was buffet with one type of warm meal, soup, at least 3 kinds of salads as well as bread. Besides, it was possible to get coffee and tea 24/7, also free of charge. One of the best hotel experiences for us!

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. Breakfast and dinner are awesome, there‘s something for everyone there. The complimentary fika and drinks (water, tea and coffee) 24/7 were a nice Addition. The hotel is very quiet and located just percectly for exploring Tromsø. We also loved the relax area with the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Some of of the minor let downs were the very soft beds (we felt like sleeping in a water bed) and the missing closet in the rooms. If you stay longer than 2 or 3 Nights that’s a bit annoying.

The hotel is centrally located. No more than a 2 minute walk to tours, shopping the piers or transportation. The staff is friendly and helpful from the moment you check in until you leave they are there for you, especially Annalu. The breakfast offers many choices and will even accommodate special diet requests like gluten free or vegan. If it is not already out they will prepare something for you. Always going above and beyond. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms clean and thoughtfully designed with radiant heat flooring in the bathrooms and Rituals toiletries. We opted for the evening meals which were hearty and tasty; and very convenient if going on a northern lights chase; once again any special diet requests were accommodated.

This is a mid range hotel. So rooms are adequately furnished, but with no kettle to make yourself a drink. The vast majority of rooms overlook the street to either side of the hotel, not the pretty harbour view. However the following give it a deserved 5 star rating. Free food all day! Good range of breakfast food. Adequate range of lunch food. A mid afternoon cake and drink and a 2 course evening meal. All offer vegi and vegan options. The price of eating out in Norway make this really appreciated. Plus this hotel is very close to the 4 pick up points for tours that we used. A quick slither through the iced over roads and you are there! Staff efficient and helpful. Recommended!

Standard hotel with everything you would expect and a little more. Conveniently located in the city centre. Staff was kind and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet. Dinner was decent everyday food, not Michelin restaurant stuff, but exactly what we needed. Rooms had everything you expect at a hotel. We have nothing to complain about. Would highly recommend.
