Down to business in Helsinki
Is Helsinki on your autumn agenda? Then we’ve got some great news for you! With three new hotels, 250 new employees, 751 rooms, the Kitchen & Table concept and a wide range of conference venues – Nordic Choice Hotels is finally making its grand entrance in the Finish capital. We have checked in with Petter Stordalen and Torgeir Silseth to learn more about the new development.
«We are going all-in by employing the best colleagues to deliver the best hotel experience in Helsingfors and Vanda”, Torgeir says.
Why did you turn to Helsinki this time around?
«It has been a longstanding dream of ours to build our own hotels in Helsinki. We have been on an intense hunt for the right project and finally we got lucky – finding not just one, but two projects that fit our profile», says Torgeir, before Petter ads:
«Our ambition was to build a new landmark in Helsinki, a new type of meeting place. To us, hotels are not just about beds and sleep. It’s about facilitating magical meetings between people.»
Clarion Hotel Helsinki is located at Busholmen, how would you describe the area?
«It is an up-and-coming area with a blooming housing development. It’s just by the water, and it has that industry character. There are some similarities to Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen in Oslo», Petter enlightens us.
Clarion Hotel Helsinki will also offer a Sky Sauna and Sky Bar on the top floor of the hotel, where there will be room for 150 people at the popular Kitchen & Table concept. It’s time to get excited!
Nordic Choice Hotels is entering the Finish market with great ambition, but entering in style is just as important.
«For seven years in a row, Clarion Hotel has been awarded Sweden’s best hotel chain, with first-class interiors, creative restaurants and a social lobby. We believe Clarion will become an exiting addition to the Finish market», says an enthusiastic Petter Stordalen.
But if you can’t wait until October, the boutique hotel Hotel F6 will open their designer doors as early as June. The first proper summer month.
«Hotel F6 will be a great addition to Nordic Choice & Resort. A nicely decorated pearl in the city centre, where we are re-thinking the concept of breakfast», Petter tells us.
At Clarion Hotel Vaanta Airport they are going in yet another direction, mainly focusing on an abundance of top-notch meeting facilities. The hotel offers 10 conference venues in total, where the largest of the 10 can host as many as 250 people. That’s what we call business friendly.
«We strongly believe in Helsingfors. And the more hotel rooms a city has on offer, the more people it can welcome», Petter states in conclusion.
And one thing is certain, Nordic Choice Hotels is looking forward to welcoming you in Helsinki.
