Stayed here one night before boarding the Havila cruise ship. Nice hotel, good facilities. Liked the fact that you could help yourself to tea/coffee etc in the lounge area whenever you wanted. Breakfast was good too. Room was a bit small but we were only there for one night so it didn't matter. If we were there for longer we would have gone for a bigger room probably. Staff friendly and helpful. recommended.

We booked a Deluxe King room but was given a smaller room with a full size bed. Tried to get it corrected next day and was met with a lot of resistance. Front desk manager insisted our bed was King when it clearly wasn't. The room also was very different from pictures. Thankfully, one staff agreed with us and we were able to get moved to the room we actually booked. I have pictures to prove. Front desk agreed to refund the price difference but gave me lip service everyday while we were there. Finally on day of departure they told me it would show up in a few days on my credit card. Of course it didn't. Instead, I got an INVOICE a week later and they claimed we drank two bottles of wine from the minibar. Of course we never did. I emailed them again about the refund they promised. They told me since I booked through Expedia, they couldn't refund me anything. Funny how the story keeps changing. I had to go through my credit card to finally get the difference refunded. Mistakes happen and I would never deduct any stars if the hotel had done the right thing and owned up to their mistakes. By the way, based on reviews I see online, it seems to be a frequent mistake they make to guests!! If you book a king size room, it's very likely you'll get a full size bed.

Just spent 3 days at this lovely hotel in Jan in preparation for a cruise leaving out of Bergen. The hotel and staff are lovely, and there is an excellent breakfast bar and dinner provided. However.....the reason for the review of 3 rather than 5. When we stayed here last, there was full housekeeping available. This time, there was not a housekeeping cart to be found. I don't remember paying a discount price for the subsequent days to offset the lack of housekeeping for the last 2 days we stayed here. I understand the need to conserve water, but the bare minimum of having someone make a bed and empty trash really isn't too excessive, is it? Apparently at this hotel it is.

Very Clean hotel with attractive lounge area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. You can ask reception for extra towels if needed, which is no problem. The room was comfortable, I liked the ability to open a window, I did find the pillows a little too plump. Loved the endless drinking water and being able to refill my water bottle a couple of times a day. Everywhere is fairly dimly lit by UK standards, when you realise that this is how Bergen is and not unique to this hotel you soon adjust. I recommend staying here for the friendly family feel this hotel has over some larger chains.
